I found a newer version of his shader, and it runs at over 15 frames per second higher.

Absolutely amazing! I cant beleive dbpro made this! With this map, a great story, and amazing gameplay, you could make one hell of an RPG!!!! I'm gonna have to try to learn to model this good...

I thought it was just using the power of Treemagik G3 and Plant Life to their potental..or at least using them... I think that TGC should put a few of these pics on the website for treemagik G3...

Sam, where's this new version of the bloom shader you speak of? The one I've got (by evolved) runs at a miserable 20 fps...

Thanks again guys. Maybe I will submit the screens to TGC.

Hawkeye, it's from the latest version of the shader pack by Freddix I think, beta 4. It may also depend on your computer. What are your specs?

EDIT: oh wait, final version is out, must be the last one. I will try the new one to see how much better performance I get.

EDIT: final version looks like it's the same as beta 4 version (I mean the bloom)

The Bloom Effect makes it look very nice. Very nice indeed! It reminds me of fable, its the first thing i thought of wheni saw it.

Only thing missing though is Shadows. Buts it is still very nice.

I dont know what Uncle Sam used, but you can find a whole host of shaders from many programmers on this forum, all put together by Freddix.
Within this Shader pack, there are several water shaders (Which produce fantastic results)

Thank you. Never heard of Fable though. As for shadows, I think I will need lightmaps if I want it to run smooth! I can't seem to get Evolved's lightmapper to work though.

Ok. By thw ay, I have kind of switched maps because the design on that one was flopped. I'll be posting up screenshots of that one soon...very soon indeed.

You know, my success here and DB user 2006+ are kind of pulling me into ORPG (notice there is no MM). Not sure yet though.

Beware, Uncle Sam. I'd make an RPG before you tried that. Most ORPGs here are not really RPGs, they're just connection tests.

Fable is a popular game on the xbox console. It uses the bloom effect on almost everything, producing a fantastic final look.

If your having trouble with the lightmapping, i could light map it for you. (I obviously wont use your stuff in my games.... as i always want to do my own modeling.) But I'll understand if you dont want to.

Yah, I noticed that. It would be a good idea to make it an RPG first, that way I don't have to establish the connection every time I load. I do know how to do multiplayer though...no connection test here...well, maybe a little, because I haven't really connected over the internet yet, just locally.

Kameo on the xbox 360 is like that too. The graphics were so good I couldn't play the game.

Great shots! I would like these shots even more with only about half the bloom though (too much for me ). The building looks great for being built in DBPro, but why does it matter if the programs have ambient light or not?

I'm working on a high res photorealistic texture pack. High res as in 7 megapixels, e-mail me with suggestions.

Well, they do, but the exported models don't. Make's everything look flat.

As for the bloom amount, I'm just not sure. I know it looks bright, but then again I want it to be hard to see because it's a bright desert. I'll put it down a wee bit.

Hey its up to you.

Thats wierd though. Your model shouldn't really look any different in DarkBasic if the program is lit wierd. Maybe run it through a converter of some sort.

You have inspired me to spend $50 of my hard earned cash on a program...(and possibly also the plant life program to make a grand total of 100..) The possiblilies will be endless when dark physics comes out...(Sorry if dark physics was random...but I cant stop thinking about it... )

Wow, what have I done! You know, you should get the double pack of Tree Magic and Plnt Life like I did, it saved me about $25.

Thats fine about the bloom, just personal preference. You should work out a way to do heat distortion over your scene. Now that would be really cool.

Another thing that could be implementedd to finish that map would be mirages. Like some of that reflective water that fades away when you get near. Good Job,
