Hi all.

I've been out for a while and only just recently started to make a new fpsc game. Here are the game statistics:

Genre: Horror / Adventure
Weapon variety: Medium
Custom models variety: Medium
Usage of lights: Very high
Ammount of traps and puzzles: Medium
Year: 2007. Attempted release year: 2007.
Level count (so far): 4/8.

= Done.

= Finnished but needs final test.

Story = (Yes it hasen't been finnished entirely).

Story so far:

You are (yourself) and have been sent to an excavation in Northern Afrika. You are not an archealogist however, you are a combat expert. And you have been called to this excavation because something is going wrong. The first section of the mine has been excavated, and then you are let free to clear up anything that is hostile, IF anything is hostile in the excavation. After getting past the abandonned part, it's time for the real test. When you get in the unexplored area, you find out that there is a former WWII base inside. That's when things start to happen...

Basic information:

This game is a horror / adventure. Right now it is more of an adventure, puzzle solving (rather easy puzzles) and trap avoiding kind of game. Origionaly the codename for this projet was STCOOZ, meaning: "Shoot the Crap Out of Zombies," but since this game is not only zombies, it is now called Rise of the Monsters. Watch this game as it will not die any time soon!

NICE!
Good story but you use the word excavation a lot, what does that mean? Dont really know
I like the style of the game, almost like my game Lost Treasures, a lot of puzzel and brainthings. Thats good and showing a FPS dont have to be overdriven violent.

Thanks for the comment! Excavation means an archealogical dig. Or some sort of archealogical site where they study stuff where the dig is. I suck at explaining so here is a much better definition:

Good use of light and ´darkness. I ask the same question as Accoun, why using different weapons types?

Well, I'm giving up on the stock weapons idea. I was thinking of having WW2 pickups in the WW2 part of the play area, but since they have no hands. "DUNK".

I'll just have some pickups for the MP5 ammo Btw working on level 2 right now! More screenies soon!

@all The demo will be released later today.

I can't release it now since i'm at a school. (I'm doing work there for one day for charity fund raising )

Oh yeah about the demo, the menu is all messed up but its only the very first release.

Thats kind of realistic to beacuse the Mp5 uses almost the same ammunation as the Mp40 and thompson.

This is my conclusion:
-Great brainthinking game.
-Do something with the first guys you meet. Didnt know what to do with em. And make it easier to spot the guns.
-On second level, play around more with entities and light.
-In the part where the small spiders jumped on me the fps where to low, I could almost image something behind the door.
I didnt come futher than this (see picture) and also found a typo.

Game looks good and is kind of scarry, the first spider just jumped on me
I think you shouldnt use the WW2 pistol since it doenst feel right and dont use the flaslight either because you almost se better without it. Thats my opinion.

I will try more later, I didnt have time to test it more.

The riddle at the end is going to change. And a lot of stuff is. My brother said he would help me invent evil puzzles MUHAHAHAHAAA Level 4 has an annoying puzzle for everyone! The room with the electric chair is going to get new stuff and I don't know why you had low fps... Hmmm. Is the ww2 pistol still there? I thought I removed the stock weps...

Just make them unkillable and put some kind of soundzone then they could tell you what to do.

How do you mean? You mean the voice? Just record it on your PC and slow it down, then you sound like a "heavy" guy And what script do you want, just put a soundzone and your done.

I have tested your demo, and from what i have seen i only can say is:

There where to big rooms, and normally that doesnt matter but!
It also had no entities in it.
Therefore it was a completely emtpy room....well almost empty.
If i were you, i should put more entities in it...like:
Pilars, jars, statues, archways....etc etc...
I this it was meant to be a sort of tomb? temple? or such?
But anyway you should put more entities in it or...
bring down the sizes of the rooms.
Also some parts were to dark. And no the flashlight didnt worked.

This is all easy fixable, and it would highly increase the
"fun to play" factor.

I'll take this into account. Thanks. If you don't like something in the game, don't worry because it may not be in the final product. But it is good to point stuff out. Thanks.
