This game originally started out as an entry in the recent AppGameKit competition and since it turned out far better than expected, myself, Chris (The Slayer) and Josh (DarkVee) have decided to continue its development and we hope to publish it to multiple appstores upon completion.

The Story
Meet Speedy. It's your job to move Speedy around the web, eating bugs. There is a catch however, the web strands decay the longer you stand on them (signified by glowing red) so don't stay in one place for too long. Try to hang onto the web for as long as possible. As soon as you lose contact with the web poor Speedy will fall. Collecting bugs will replenish your silk supply allowing for automatic web repair. Good luck and hang on tight!

Controls
Use the arrowkeys to move around the web. Web strands that are red mean that they are currently decaying so move off them quickly!

Roadmap
- Powerups e.g complete web repair, 'light-weight' feet
- Multiple themes
- Obstacles based on themes
- Touch support
- Support for different resolutions

Looking great Hodgey! Our scoring system put this only 0.1 points behind DVader's entry

Not sure how I feel about that but I'll take it as a compliment. DVader's entry was pretty awe-inspiring so I'm glad this game gave it a good run for the finish line.

Thanks for the comments, Steve.

Here's a small update. I'm working on the new themes, and here's one of them.
Made a few more theme backgrounds, but I am not allowed to show these yet.
And, I don't want to end up in that smelly dungeon again.
Also started on the powerups, and theme related obstacles/enemies.

nice background slayer I been working on spritesheets also for my game, but having different ones for each level. I would like background like that in my oncoming game which is taking for ever to make. I been working on this game and my tile engine since February some times doing other projects on the side.

Developer of Space Chips, pianobasic, zipzapzoom, and vet pinball apps. Developed the tiled map engine seen on the showcase. Veteran for the military.

Sorry for the late reply, guys. Been busy and having a few things on my mind lately.

Thanks 3d point in space.
You're having trouble making the background? You only need one background?

Thanks for the comments, DVader and bax.

Here's a bit more progress on the new themes. This theme is called 'Canyon'. Hot and sunny, yet dangerous with falling rocks and other obstacles.

Cheers
