Okay! I managed to find my editor today.. "busy week" apprantly ^^ But bless him hes done a wonderful job with my article, so here it is!

Rar:
http://www.melted.com/spectural/storage/MenusAndDialogs.rar

Zip:
http://www.melted.com/spectural/storage/MenusAndDialogs.zip

Includes the full vc++6 project and workspace as a refrance and the full article. The article is.. big! and I didnt even cover all the stuff I wanted (list boxes, weird components, etc) but I figured any more depth and it would be far too large (litrally, a book) and that article should give you enough understanding to figure the rest out. If not you can always ask me questions and I will try to help you out.

Post any errors, comments, suggestions or additions in this topic

I hope you enjoy!

You haven't finished your Networking one though, have you ?

Anyhoo - In AtomZ I have tried to detect when a key is pressed (in my Windows menus), using WM_KEYDOWN - however, it appears that that message is never received by my window, and I'm assuming that the DarkSDK messaging loop grabs it - can you confirm whether thats true or not ?

Bouncy, completly unsure about that one. Sorry for the length of time, I totally didnt notice your post and for some reason the board flagged this thread as all read XD

I have never tried to detect for a keypress in a menu (does it really send a message in that circemstance?) but following my way of doing things i'm pretty sure that our message loop should receive the messages FIRST and then we pass on messages that we dont handle back to DarkSDK, so thats a bit confusing.

Hey mods, it might be considered a bit pompus to ask and I dont like to.. but is there any chance of this being stickied for a bit? I think its a quite usful tutorial and would rather it didnt start falling to the end of the board where no one will find it
