BOMB ROLLER
(WITH SOURCE!!!!)

Description

This is a 3D game where you move a rolling bomb around a level. If you crash into a wall, or fall off the ground, you will explode, and go back to the begining of the level, or to the last checkpoint. This is the 3rd major game I made (5th game I made) and the first major 3d game (3rd actual 3d game. others were just get the yellow spheres on a matrix, etc.)

Controls

In game:
Up-speed up
Down-speed down
Left-go left
Right-go right

Menu:
Left, Right-Go through selections
Enter-choose selection

Kinds of Tiles

Floor Tile:

Checkpoint Tile:

If you die, you will be put back at the last checkpoint tile you rolled over.

Magnet Tile:

This switches the left and right controls.

Spring Tile:

Makes you bounce.

Ice Tile:

Makes you go fast.

Water Tile

Slows down left and right movement.

Nice game and all, but in level 3 : The Lake, I got a checkpoint where it was 100% IMpossible to move on from. I simply couldn't move without falling into a hole...

Sorry. I think there are a few areas that if you go over the checkpoint in a bad place, that could happen. Just end the program, and choose continue after you run it again, and then you can do the level over.

Fun game! I completed it some time ago...

Thougt it's quite easy to cheat... Just open the save.dat file in notepad and change the number to one of the level numbers and you can continue the the game at that level!

You should encrypt the number... Easy... You could save it in an array then save it... This makes it really hard to hack... Or you could just use:

"write byte file number,variable".

When it saves that, it will make it binary code... Which is really hard to hack. This is the way it works in DarkBasic Pro... Don't know with darkbasic classic thought.

Yes, I know it is easy to cheat. I want it to be a little easy to cheat, so you can skip a level if it is too hard, or something...

Lol, look at the ad at the bottom of the page. It keeps showing floor tile ads because of the different kinds of tiles section in my first post

Edit: Submitted it for the showcase. Hope it makes it

Not bad at all. Finished all the levels without any bugs or crashes at all which was nice.

Hardest level for me was 12 where you had to keep swapping between 3 sections.

Boo!

Thanks!
I'm pleased that you haven't found any bugs
Yeah, level 12 is hard...I know it isn't really level 15, but I can't get it perfect. It's just ordered in basic categories: Easy=early Hard=later levels.

Glad you liked it

Thanks. I see no problem with the explosion...just because I didn't use your's doesn't mean its bad jk
Oh, I guess you are talking about the explosion not starting as a sphere, but that hasen't been noticed by anyone but you, so it isn't that big of a problem...

The only bug I found was (I think level 3) I passed a checkpoint and died, and when it started again, it was impossible to not die because I was in a stuck part. I think it was because I was on the very left side of the level.

EDIT: I gues that's what klu 007 said.

ok. I guess I'm okay as long as you change these two things:

*Its made in DBC, not DBPRo
*Maybe make a by:whoever below the game title so it is a little more obvious who made it so they won't think it is yours if they didn't read the comment or go to the link.

I'm glad you like it

There aren't any licenses, so you can modify it, but please still give me credit. (More than just a small name added in the credits)

I'm glad you like it

What are you planning to do?

I give you the modify in 2 weeks (now i must have to travel).

Thanks a lot.

ok. That's fine! You really only need to edit the level files (the very first line is the level name) the menu images, and the Bomb Roller title within the game.

That was lots of fun! I liked the way you loaded your levels from a file like that (Yes, I managed to open your files...) and.. yeah. It'd be awesome, if you still like this game, if you could make a Bomb Roller 2!

Yes, my friend and I found it that much fun

Bomb roller 2 could have new levels and tiles! Anyway, just a thought. One last thing:

How did you create those level files? With your own editor? How?

I doubt you can draw me/60 by hand, so you REALLY can't draw ME/1, can you?

Wow. What a bump

I AM making a Bomb Roller 2 . Link in signature...

Thank you! Bomb Roller 2 will have more levels and tiles, and a few other cool additions. It is being totaly re-programmed, because the original Bomb Roller's loading time was terrible.

I created the level files with Alien's map editor. It is a very good map editor, which I am using agagain for Bomb Roller 2. I tried to make a map editor a year ago, but I never finished it because it was a little too complex for me. I might try to make one again later. BTW, Alien't map editor is a 2D tile editor, not a 3D one.

Are you sure you downloaded it right. Without it stopping? That happens sometimes with downloads when it doesn't work right. Try downloading it again.

Not sure you will find anything by searching Bomb Roller but this forum, and maybe my website. I haven't submitted it anywhere. I will probably when I finish BR2.

Isn't that what the credits are for? To try and mask the people actually responsible. (you know, people only watch the PRE Credits)

Google spiders this site. They don't allways get real time data, but since you were one of the last to post you were in the quote

And you're saying...
I meant, don't say that he made the game, say that I made it. He could still put his name in the credits for translating it though. And, its pre credits too...
I don't think he ever got around to it. He never posted after that.

Uhh... UFO... are you okay? What are you talking about? All I was saying is that people rarely care about the credits and you should ask for a bigger sign of ownership.

uhh...Merranvo...are you okay? I was just asking not to say it was made by him. Ok?

Lets not turn this into a flame fight, so lets stop bickering and drop the issue.

I really don't care that much anyway. He seems not to have done it, so who really cares?
