Hello

About one year ago, The Nerd and I started making a game, Galaxy Storm. In the beginning, it was just a cone, that could move up and down. Later we added the shooting part, since that was what we were experimenting with. Finally, we thought that we would make it into a complete game. About 4 months of hard work later(and maybe some coffee breaks on a few weeks each), we ended up with this.

Simple graphics, yes. But the core gameplay is really fun. One of the reasons it took us so long to finish, is that we constantly played multiplayer against each other!

Yes, both a complete single player campaign and multiplayer.

The campaign is on ten levels, which means increasing numbers of enemies each level. When you eventually complete the game, you'll get to see our end of game-cutscene, which we think is pretty good(keep in mind, this game is almost one year old now). For the sake of it, we thought up some simple storyline, even though we haven't written in the game itself. Basically, it's about you, having to get back to Earth, as it is under attack! You have to fight your way through the enemy lines, in order to reach your home, where you are needed...

The multiplayer part, well. As far as I remember, it was something we added so we could have some fun ourselves. It's nothing fancy, but it's fun!

,, How come it's taken you so long to release the game???"
Well, we were lazy at the time. Then we just completely forgot about it, until we recently dug it up again. We made a few changes, played it again, and we couldn't think of any reasons to NOT release the game now, even though it's about a year old.

'Nuff said. It's time for you to try out the game for yourself.

Enjoy!

Regards

Indeed... It took us a year to release this!

Not bad, but it seems a bit static in a way. For instance there are no explosions, enemies just dissapear when hit. Also the ship movement seems a bit rigid in that you press a key and it instantly goes in that direction at a fixed speed.

Thanks for the comments!

@Benjamin

Thanks for the ideas! But the code is a mess, it's one year old, so it'll get a little difficult to add cool effects and stuff, unless me and/or The Nerd decides to clean up the code. But if I/we decide to do so, you can expect a whole lot of improvements!

Uhh it is sooooooo easy I finish the game without sweat or life and here a BUG: Hold R button and spacebar to make a contant machine gun without ammo loss and it have constant sound which is annoy but deal with it.

Yet it is better than my android waving... I give it a 8/10

Good job and keep it up.

Whoa... I like a shiny thing... let's touch it .

But thanks anyway

That is a bug we knew about, although we didn't really want to fix anything. This game is missing a lot. We only improved a few things to make it releasable, but we didn't expect this to be a super cool bug-free game, since we couldn't understand our own ugly-written code anymore. But thanks for the comment anyway.

I might add that a Galaxy Storm 2 is in the making. I can't really say any more now, but be on your guard!

By the way, is it possible that a moderator could lock this thread? It is old, and we do not wish it to be bumped anymore.
