Yea, so i finally got around to work on my entry for the Dark AI Mini Competition.

What is this game:
This is an Action FPS Game (My First FPS Game in DBPro ).
I namned this game "The Tournament" because in the game, you are participating in a deathmatch tournament.
If you die, you will re-spawn to one of the starting positions.
You can play against up to Five bots.

Due to filesize limit of 15mb, the graphics will be low quality, and there will only be one human model and one map.

What is left to do:
Code The AI
Die and Re-Spawn
Able to Kill AI
Set AI Animations
Score Table
Last Priority: Bug Fixes

Screenshots: (clickable)

Movies:
01) Physics and Weapons - early stage of development
02) Rocket Launcher Test - early stage of development

Features:
Newton and Dark AI
Shaders
4 weapons (maybe 5 if i get the rocket launcher to work properly in time)

Final Words:
When the competition is over, and if i have time, i will develop this into a full pased action game with online play support.
I will also create more levels, and upgrade the UI and stuff.
The game engine will then be used to develop the new Zombie Hunter.

thanks guys
i am glad you enjoy the screenshots.

however, the competition is about AI and i haven't done anything but getting Newton and Dark AI to run side by side. i just hope i will learn enough about dark ai before the deadline, which is in a little over a month.

Hello,

i have added the Flame Engine from Zombie Hunter (dbc).
and i also improved it a little, so depending on the size of the object, the flames go bigger and because of dbpro, they look much better too.

i will make some new textures for this, and add smoke and stuff and see how that goes

it also runs at a solid 66fps (at 1280x1024 resolution and shaders).

i finally got the explosions to work! (yay).
i am too lazy to upload a video of it, so i created an image sequence.

before -> during -> after.

the only things left now, is the AI, a main menu and some bug fixes.

hey that is looking quite swell!

Your on the right track here, just dont overshadow the Dark AI functions with pretty graphics and big explosions. of course those never hurt, in moderation

Thank you for the kind reply

i have almost a month on me to make some kind of AI.
currently i am manually positioning the Obstacles in darkai (if i do it automatically it gets screwed up).
done with the first and secound floor, doing the last floor tomorrow.

after the competition is over and if i still feel to further develop this game, i will write an editor for it too. so it gets easier for me to make them, and it will support user created maps aswell

Thats pretty sweet looking. So didyou use newton for the physics? If so,you did a spectacular job on the character movement. I always had some problems with that. I also like the flames,so now I'm sorta motivated to add flaming objects to my game
