Clone of the old style arcade games! It's pretty basic but has some interesting features like a high score list, different levels, and some nice music. Let me know what u think!

I like the retro feel of it.

By the way, that third picture with the 3D ship is awsome looking.

Practice makes perfect. But if nobody is perfect, why practice?

The first time I ran the executable I let it play through the beginning and I got a 'could not load sprite on line 605'. Second attempt was better, I got to play the game. A few other tries yeilded the same periodic crash with 'could not load sprite on line 605'.

Anyway, the game ran smoothly (when it ran), played nice, and was by all appearances quite well put together. Good job. The star field was cool too; No problem with the controls...

You are right, this game is very basic. If you would like suggestions to amp it up then you might think about the following:

new enemies
new weapons
enemy return-fire
new enemy attack styles
some bosses to make the next level
sheilds for the enemy maybe, so that it takes more shots to destroy them
reduce the score a little every time you fire

Well, anyway, I say good job. Keep it up and keep improving your skills. The more you tackle problems and complete them, the more you will learn.

Nice game with pleasant music. No problem with crashes. Game ran smoothly at about fps. Every so often a collision would be missed, especially if an enemy was next to or on top of an enemy when the first collision occured. Subsequent missile collisions would not be detected on the lower enemy.

Suggested adding a difficulty setting to keep game simple for younger, inexperienced players and for more experienced players who want a challenge. At this time it was easy to keep destroying all enemies by staying to the left or right side. Stopped playing at level 8 as nothing seemed to change as levels changed.

The enemies move forward at increased speed every level, and every three levels move from side to side faster... also the faster ships are worth more points. Thanks for the feed back though! Much appreciated!

Works fine. 72 fps. You can get through it just by hitting ctrl repeatedly. The enemys should return fire or try to crash into you so you have to move a bit. Also, your shots are quite slow so it's hard to aim at the enemys, making it easier just to sit in one place and hit ctrl.
Also, there is an obvious limit to the number of shots on screen.
On the plus side, what is here seems pretty solid, you just need to add some stuff to it.

The biggest problem with this game is that HAN SOLO HAS ONLY 500 POINTS!!!!!

Anyway, what are the easter eggs?

What did the blind, deaf, mute kid with one arm get for christmas?

Cancer...
