So. We started this project pretty long time ago (we haven't been working with it all day long) but now we really started to work with this.


The game is going to be survivalhorror with some action (similiar to F.E.A.R without stunning graphics)though, we are working with custom graphics. The wall/floor/ceiling graphics will be approx. 80% selfmade.
We are planning to make some custom models too, but the team is pretty small (5 persons). This is not a team request so let's get straight to business:


Vague is taking place in near future (2014) in 1.6 million people island-city. A virus has spread all over the city and there's only 100-200 people alive (This sounds kinda cliché, but keep reading).
The virus started to spread when a V.I.O.W (Virus Infected Organic Weapon) escaped from a laboratory (cliché too). V.I.O.W started to attack humans. When a human gets infected by the virus, it will take from 10secs to 10hours(depending how good is the immune system of the victim)to turn the human to so called "zombie". You control a guy, who wakes up in middle of the nightmare: Ryan Jefferson. Ryan wakes up in his office (lazy b******) and notices, that someone is screaming. This is where the game starts.

Now here are some features:


- 80% custom segment graphics
- Cool story sequenses: Comic strips (Similiar to Max Payne)
- Colorful story (atleast we try)
- Custom HUD (ofcourse)
- Good music (one of our musicians has 10 year experience)
- Puzzles where you need to occasionally use your brains
- Readable diaries, memos etc
- Secret areas
- Small amount of custom models
- Small amount of custom decal animations
- Some custom sounds

I agree with Stoopid, you're not showing off anything much interesting. It sounds promising judging from the text rather than the visuals though.

And now same with the Antialiasing and anistropic filtering:
As you can see in 1: The park light and chair is much more smoother.

As you can see in 2: The textures are more sharper and deeper with anistropic filtering.

As you can see in 3: Even the long distance objects are smooth.

And yes. Im not trying to make "28 Days later - The game", I want that the game has same kind of ambience than in the movie.

Well, the environments are pretty bland and uninteresting, and the mix of custom media doesn't blend very well. I like the P1_C5 screenshot, but it is a bit dark. What you need is all custom textures for the segments, then it'd probably look better.

Btw, are you running a modded V1 of FPS Creator, with the anti-aliasing and all?

As I said before, we are PLANNING to make custom graphics. These screens are from version 0.1, which is pretty incomplete yet.

And for the antialiasing question: Its a secret

I doubt it. I can run antialiasing by screwing around with the settings on my graphics card drivers.

You do know that forcing someone's video card to do that will result in the game crashing if it can't handle it........right?

May I ask what is the frame rate in the outdoor level. 3 fps?

Well, I've been testing one version of this game. So far FPS has been for me 28-33 at that "outdoor level". The computer which Im using is: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, ATI Radeon 1650 Pro 512MB, 2GB Ram and Windows XP.

Well. With my crappy pc it's 15-20, with friends new pc it's something between 40-60 depending if he's using dynamic ligthing.

And I know that it can crash. That's why I said it's gonna be tricky, maybe impossible.

Nope, he just pressed 'x'. As for the anti-aliasing, it doesn't really seem to effect the scene much, in a game player's eyes anyway, as was said before though, forcing someone's card into anistropic filtering when it can't handle it will cause it to crash.

As for the game, when your game is too bland, don't just randomly place a variety of models, the chairs look out of place in the outdoor scene to be honest.

I gotta agree with Inspire on that...but then again, no one around here really dates in public parks Well, there was that one couple one early night on one of the lunch tables making out...and the girl had the front of her shirt pulled up...with no bra...sorry for the horrific picture But seriously, there were little kids running around, what where they thinking? Too bad the cops don't come along as often as they used to....you're lucky if you even find them at all these days
