I think it's kinda cool how the top view can still look almost just like the 2D version yet still be 3D.

Have you considered adding more special effects? Or perhaps add waves to the ocean? There was a good example of a matrix based ocean that came with DBC.

I uploaded it.

What do you mean? Like make the planes not explode but crash into the sea?
Quote: "Or perhaps add waves to the ocean?"

Maybe, but I want to keep the system requirements low. Currently, it also works on my old labtop.
Matrixes would be a very inefficient method.

Master Xilo,

Thank you very much. I'm always looking for minigames to add to my games folder. This will be a great addition in which I will enjoy for a long time to come, I am sure. Thank you very much again!

Nice. Gets kind of difficult. I got about 1300 points.

I'd suggest making it full screen windowed. I paused it and used the windows key so i could change the sound volume, or read the list of controls, but then it crashes on returning to the game.

Yeah, I know about these crashes, but fullscreen windowed has such a bad impact on the framerate.

I was thinking particles for explosions and such, but that sounds pretty neat. You could have a splash as they hit the ocean or explode if it's an island (I remember seeing an expanded version of the 1945 example that did that, still 2D of course).

As for the waves - the DBC demo with an ocean matrix that looked and ran smoothly. If I recall it used some sort of shifting technique to give the impression of an endless ocean. I know that tank demo did that and that might be what I'm thinking about...

Nice! That was really fun The game runs really smooth and the the controls are responsive. At first I was like okay, this if fun. But then when I hit '2' and the view changed I was like WOAH! That blew my mind. Very unique thing you did there with the changing views thing. You should think about doing that to more arcade games. I would pay money for them

Amazing just amazing. Very fun indeed. And Sid, imagine a 3d pong idea where you zoom onto your paddle.

Hey. I know I don't post much in the DBP section, but I thought I'd review this game in the next Gunn3r Games Informer. It was a really fun play, and you should expect a pretty high score!

No problem. The Informer is actually trying to move out of just reviewing FPSC games, and this is the first non-FPSC game to be reviewed in it. Of course, there will be others in this issue, but this was the first one done. Because I don't fully know DBP, I can't give suggestions like fix this area of code, or what not, but I can give overall reviews as a gamer. But like I said... It'll get a pretty good score.

Congrats, Master Xilo! You got the review of the month. Check the Geek Culture board or the FPSC Chat to find the release of the August Informer.
This game was a lot of fun to play... Time to try again to beat the high score...

New update!
I added optional
- bloom
- and shadow effects

I also did what Gunn3r suggested:
You can now put any amount of music files in the "MediaMusic" folder and it'll play them in a row starting with a random one!

+ as I already did with Pacman Challenge, I made it "every resolution compatible" and added a small setup window:

Here a screenshot with the new effects using my desktop's native resolution (which is what you get by default with the setup app)

New version looks prettier, obviously. With bloom filter and shadowing enabled, still runs smooth and without slowdown- it's a bit easier now because you can see enemy planes by their shadows before they are on the screen, which is nice.
