Here it is! the first ever thing to come of my FPSC project, Izolis! For more info on the signle-player part of the game, go here.

A small introduction to the first map:

Name: Infrastructure

After the Eastern forces took the surface, they made use of the facility's supply line to move into the heart of the facility. This is where the most heated fighting erupted in storage areas and transport routes. Western security are desperately trying to hold on to what little defensive ground they have left, while the East plans to storm through the facility and kill all within.

..and another screen, I'd love some C&C on the map layout, etc. All music used was written and composed by Butt Monkey, my epic thanks to him. Thank you also to all the artists who's media features in this demo, there's just too many of you to make a list of.....

Enjoy:

I just wanna point out, that since I used S4Mod, not ply's Mod, this doesn't reflect on the single player experience, this is the acid test for my level design and weapon permutations, (they will also be customised with custom hands, once I make/get then made).....

kk, looks good my advice is this though in both screens one has arms another dosnt, and it could use some grungy up like maybe some more imperfections like some trash or a plank or two. Otherwise good job i like the second pick alot. My question is this though, that guy must have been and idiot or a lousy shot in the first screen to get killed i mean look at the Freaking gun he had

I also kinda think this is a no grunge zone, not everywhere in the world looks like a public toilet y'know......

And I guess that guy must've met a firing squad or something lol, I dunno, he's dead, I thought it'd be a more interesting spawn point for the weapon....

Had a look at this game and looks like a good multiplayer game could do with being a bit darker and using lighting a bit better but apart from that looked good.

I can see where Punk13 coming with the grunge but I think it needs just a little bit not to much so it dont look so clean.

Looking good well done.

There are doors, you can see them better in game, FPSC darkens screens, but there are big bay doors in that area, it's like the arteries of the facility.......

The big play test will be at 7:00PM Greenwich Meridian time on Friday, to sort out weapon permutations and get feedback on those....

lol i must of missed that part, what i ment by grunge is if there are people shooting and all of the other stuff that's going on im sure a peace of paper or a plank on the ground wouldn't hurt, like your lighting in the second screen though so good job on that.

Had a good look through it and here is my review.

Firstly, regardless of the fact that I wrote the music, if I hadn't i'd still have said this I'm not sure if there really should be music in the menu screens. There is a yucky transition between the two tracks when you go into the loading screen and I personally think it detracts from the experience. Games like HL2 multiplayer etc didn't have music, yet they make a very atmospheric menu screen. Mabye a more innovative menu screen is required with custon buttons etc, to immediately grab the players attention and to make them think "Hmm, someone's certainly put alot of work in this."

The level design itself is nice and simple. It has plenty of guns and cover. Sadly I can't get the complete package as my monitor stretches everything horribly (This happens on all FPSC games) but that doesn't matter. I liked the contrasting styles of the top floors and basement but I feel that perhaps the transition into the basement should have been a little more gradual. You could have had one little extra room, like perhaps a security checkpoint: A small room with a window into a little control area where a guard would generally be stationed. I dunno, something like that.

Entities were fine, I liked the placement but I do agree with the others here. The area should perhaps have some battle scars.

I also think the lighting should be revisited. It was all a little too light for me. This level could be very tense and atmospheric if there was less and darker lighting. An example would be the dead soldier. The area under the platform could be very dark, with just the shaft of torchlight on the dead body. I also think the basement area could be changed a little in the sense of lighting. You made that awesome tram scene in your izolis beta. Perhaps a dark lighting scheme with hints of bright neon colours could work?

Lastly, weapons were nice and varied. Liked the little sci-fi themed ones too. It'll be much better when you have the hands. The same crosshair for each weapon would be nice though.

A different hud would be welcome here. I assume you will use the HUD you make for Izolis single player whenever you make it?

Notice that most of my comments are just little details that can be added later. I've just tried to spot as much as I possibly can and it's up to you whether you agree or not.

I'll give you a game soon!

@Butt Monkey

I'll take all that into account for the next release. I wanna get a game together and see how well it goes in a combat scenario, then I'll work on tweaking it up.......

I am trying to get some battle scarring type stuff together, custom broken boxes, fires and such. I'll also re-texture a bunch of stuff to add grunge/battle scarring......

How about a game at 10PM, Grennwich Time? I'm unsure what that would be to people in other time zones though.....

CG, since s4mod has airmod, I could try writing a tutorial, and you could ironsightify the weapons

Hmm, I never thought of adding that in, since they won't have ironsights in the Single player, because some are dual-wieldable and it wouldn't work.....
