I still can't see where the bug comes from exactly.
The following code seems to suggest that the problem is connected with the use of the Charset value - some work, some don't.
rem Newsletter69
rem Simple text to screen
cls rgb(255,128,0)
set text size 20
`set text font "Verdana" ` (A) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic" ` (A) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 1 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 2 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 77 ` (B) this works
SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 128 ` (C) this doesn't work
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 129 ` (C) this doesn't work
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 130 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 134 ` (C) this doesn't work
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 136 ` (C) this doesn't work
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 161 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 162 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 163 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 177 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 178 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 186 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 204 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 222 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 238 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 255 ` (B) this works
`SET TEXT FONT "MS gothic", 64 ` (B) this works - included for testing (not in char set list)
text 50,50,"HELLO WORLD"
wait key
rem Create a render target camera image
make camera 1
set camera to image 1,1,256,256
sync
paste image 1,100,100
wait key
rem Draw text to the camera
set current bitmap -1
cls rgb(0,0,255)
center text 128,100,"NEW CENTERED TEXT" ` this shows using A or B above , but not C
set current bitmap 0
paste image 1,100,100
wait key
end
Since I'm not sure what IS supposed to show, I should add that what I mean by "works" is that some text shows as opposed to not showing.
And why is Charset 129 listed twice - with two different names - in the Help file?
