Hey all,
After looking at my Horror contest thread, and seeing how hard you are all working, I came to the conclusion that you all deserve one of my shaders for your hard work. So here it is, My Relief + Bump + Specular shader with Dynamic character shadowing (which basicly means that your character will shine with the light realisticly, and light will blend accross the clothes etc). Cudos Goes to Bond 1 For the Dark Shader template and his awesome Character models, you are one talanted user

Instructions
Place the shader in your effectbank, then apply to the chatacter in FPSC. Thats it. This shader looks best on Model pack 22 characrters, but it should work on all characters and media providing they have _D. _D2. _N and _S Maps.

Here are 2 shots. The first showing how the light blends accross the character, and the seccond shot just showing how the slimey look Only appears under certain angles of light, so no more rubber looking characters

Download attached

Enjoy all!

CoZ

EDIT: HOTFIX!: Due to a mistake by me, the downloadable shader attached to this post doesnt have a .fx extension. You will need to add the .fx extension to the file name yourself

Thanks all!
Here is another shader update. I have improved the character self shadowing, Improved the specular and bump map, added a slight red tint when viewed at certain angles and reduced the harshness of the relief map for those of you who want a more muscely look. Picture and download attached:

Cool shader, good to see people making their own stuff with the template!

Maybe a bit much for my tastes for general purpose stuff, but good for special effects.

Quote: "When I apply this shader to Bond1's zombies, it makes them motionless and then invisible..."

The zombies from the store don't have normal and spec maps, which are required for this shader. When I get my current contract work done, I'm going to release normal and spec maps for most of my current store items, so they can be used with shaders like these.

Thanks for the comments all.

Next Contribution: BETA Weapon Shader
This gives your weapons are realistic metalic, shiny look (best used in low light conditions). Light will also glisten down the barrell of the gun etc. This shader is in Beta Stage. Tested and works best on all Model pack 9 & 10 weapons including bonds fantasy weapons. Here are 2 shots showing the shader in action:

Just place the shader in the effect Field(s) of the weapon in the gunspec file.

Download attached

Enjoy CoZ

Wow, Looking really good, I'll test it out when I get time. Whats the performance Like? I'm not liking the spec on the Weapon, It would really need a REAL specular that actually uses a spec map rather than just having a all over shader material fake one.

I'll Just have to wait till the migration...
Anyway It looks OK on the Characters yet again would look better with a specular map rather than an all over material.

Keen to see where this will go.

@proart: Normal mapping works on segments along with bumpmapping etc. I havent tested all of these on segments so I wouldnt Know.

@ All: Here is a Fixed Bumpbone Shader
It basicly gets rid of the horrible jagged and broken shader marks you got when using the old bumpbone shader (for those of you who want more bumpmapping than Glossyness). I have also added some more bumpmap and specular to the shader, along with the feature that The creases only appear in the characters clothes when the light shines on it from certain directions. This shader will make the character appear ever so slightly brighter compared to the others.

Shaders you can expect tomorrow:
*Normal mapping that works on segments
*Heat Haze (working on now!)

Screenshot showing the bumpbone shader:

@CoZ: Very nice! But... a word of caution:
Just check with Lee or Rick that the bumpbone shader has been sufficiently changed from the original. I'm sure it is but you can never be too safe.

If you already have then I apologise for sounding like a headmaster in a boarding school.

Heat haze sounds interesting. Is it possible to make plausible glass without a raycaster in engine?

Thanks for the great comments all!
Quote: "The Weapon shader doesnt seem to work on EAI's weapons"

It does, make sure the shader path has been correctly applied in the gunspec of all weapons.

Now for what you have been waiting for...
Paralax Map segment shader

This shader will work on all stock and custom segemens as long as they have _S, _N, _D & _D2 Textures. As a side note, this is a Pixel shader 2.1 shader so make sure your card can support such shader model.

New Dante Shader {Can also be used on other characters with Normal, Specular maps etc)
This is purely a bump map shader for all your characters, but especially dante.

.Rar File attached containing both shaders

More shaders to come very soon!

CoZ

EDIT: Updated Shader File Name's to show Correct Shader name (paralax Not normal mapping). I have also Updated some of the shader info.

Great work on the segment shader, This isn't even normal mapping, It's parallax mapping, Normal mapping was already working. But when you use parallax mapping it works and looks a lot stronger.

Hey CoZ can you get a full screen shader working on everything in fpsc do you think? Contact me here or email me at soldier_jaqqson@hotmail.com been playing around with my dark shader, got something which would look nice in my game but cant manage to apply it as its a mixture of object and full screen shader.

[EDIT]
Also, Im having trouble working out how to get a shader on my MP10 guns working, when I import the models and textures the preview is just blank.

Thank you,
Svothe

@g0LDjUnGe: I would of taken your comment seriously It it wasnt for all that swearing that had to be removed, which just shows you are a pathetic noob. In answer to your question, All of my shaders Are made in Dark Shader using either Bond 1's shader template, or using Some of EVOLVED's templates and then getting them to work in FPSC by editing them in Dark shader. All appropriate credit has been given etc, and these shaders are not being sold as you can see. So basicly there is no problem..Get a life mate

@Djmaster: Yes your are welcome to use these in the horror contest.

And sorry about the mistake with the shader type, I knew I had forgot something, It is indeed Paralax mapping not normal mapping! God Im stupid!

@Violent Pigeon: Added you to MSN

More shaders to come all

GoldJunge,

If you don't like his shaders, get lost. If you wanna argue, I'm open. Si what if they are from a different pack, CoZ probably made them, so have that amount of common sense lol.

@First Company Veteran: Thanks for the backup man. As for the different pack part, a few of the shaders are from the Freely available Ultimate shader pack in the Dbpro boards. But they dont work without a condierable amount of editing and tweaking etc. So basicly all the character shsaders posted are made by me in Darkshsader. and the paralax Map is Made by a user called EVOLVED. But, it doesnt work without editing. So what I have done in regards to that shader is alter it in DarkShader etc, and Got it working in FPSC For you Guys. Im very Sure EVOLVED Wont mind me editing his shader code so it works for you guys (Dark Goblin is doing it for His MOD). But all the others are made using Bond 1's template, or my own shader coding. I thought I would quickly outline the stuff I am doing just so you guys dont think im cheating you (which im sure you don't..you all semm pleased with my shaders)

More To come Today Guys!
