Hi there, I decided that I should make some useful items for this community, some free ones.

The guidelines are below:
No characters.
No weapons. (Maybe simple prop weapons)
No massive detailed models.
No segments.

Transparent textures may be a problem.

I am willing to make any model you want for free, aslong as it follows those guide lines.

Here is one example of a phone I made for FPSC.

And a model I will release (for free of course) as soon as I've textured it. Please don't request lots of cars unless you don't mind them being low poly. This one is a project.

I may release the models you have requested in packs every now and then. I may do the simpler models earlier.

Please provide reference pictures.

Get requesting!

Status:

Completed:
Mobile (not a request)
Grappling hook (requested by Seth Black)
Game case (requested by therhino)
Crowbar (Scene Commander)
Fruit (Leon Kennedy) - created by DarkOwen
Scud Launcher (General Jackson) - created by DarkOwen
Roof Top Air Vent (Bugsy)

To do:
Trash/Fast food pack (18% completed)

I know that this is generous and stuff, but

To be honest, every day a new "request models here" thread pops up, always with the same restrictions.

I'm getting bored of request threads

Looks nice, but Aaagreen is right, there are too many at the moment.

Hmm.. I'm not making segments by the way. I can make the models, but I cannot make them into doors. Also it may be worth noting that glass on models in FPSC is anonymous to me.

Also, the reason for these restrictions is mainly due to the fact characters take a while to create, I would create guns, but I'm having problems with the hands, and nobody helped.

Ok then, expect your model within one week max.

EDIT:

I'm almost done, just texturing it.

Oh yeah, they OBVIOUSLY never get made...

Now I'll just get this thing FPSC ready, and it's done.
When do you need it, seth? ASAP or do you just want me to put it in a pack of requests?

...wow. That's very nice work, voltlight.

Whenever you have it completed would be just fine. I'm not in any kind of a huge rush.

Thanks for the kind offer, and fast response...

Thank you!

Hmm... This is becoming a problem... It doesn't seem to want to compile one of the textures, although the phone worked just fine and that's got 3 different textures. What's even more strange is part of it is out of place, which shouldn't be out of place now, it's like it's not changing it... Any ideas?

@heltor,

Good to see you! How've you been?

@voltlight,

Is the problem you're experiencing, with multiple textures, in regards to FPSC not displaying them?
If so, try leaving the TEXTURED = field blank. Don't assign a texture in the .fpe file.

If you assigned multiple textures to the model, and exported it as an .x file, the default texture
associations will be used (make sure they're in the folder with the .x file) when the entity is used.

@ Seth, I have left the texture field blank. Should each object have it's own folder, perhaps all the textures in that folder are confusing it? I managed to get the phone to have 3 textures, but this won't work...

@ Jackson What's a "scud launcher"?

@ Kravenwolf Thank you! I'm not sure how to bring the poly count in 3DS Max, it's a common mystery...

Update: I fixed the grappling hook, for some extremely strange reason, I copied the .x file and renamed it along with another .FPE (EXACTLY THE SAME), and it worked O.o

Also, you want me to model the whole vehicle?

To check polycount in max, right click on object and click on properties, there you have Faces and a number near it,calculate faces*2 to get polys.Nice work there btw.

I lol'd, 2574 polys. Seems a little much for what it is, I mean, I tried to make it quite low poly... Works fine in game, I don't see any FPS drops.

And no, I do not have a clue how you can make it lower poly, as that informs you would be removing faces, which would take ages and most likely mess it up, especially with cylinders.

It's a great start. I would make a request, but it seems that you need to learn how to use 3dsMax first. AutoDesk has many tutorials, a forum, and great support, not to mention the manual. For the price of that software, I would take full advantage of all the support.

That's just because I'm new to compiling for FPSC and new to Direct X files.

I compile for things like HL2 quite frequently.

How about of a small model pack? Trash to fill out the streets and alleys. Coins, cans, newspapers, bananas, car parts, empty fast food cases and such.

Hope I didn't request too much

Not at all, that's what I'm talking about

Also, Jackson, I'm still waiting for conformation on my question, and if so, could you get me some more references, because it's hard to see what it is.

EDIT:

Done 2 burger boxes (different textures)

I'd actually like to see different types of food to use as health items instead of the banana that is stock with FPSC:

Apple
Orange
Chicken Drumstick (man, do I love medieval)
ice cream cone
hot dog
hamburger
steak
pizza
etc. etc.

You should get the idea from that list. ANY food items. Candy bars, popcorn, and carnival foods included.

More fast food stuff.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. Also, great idea leon!

EDIT:

Made a little detail update, although it will probably be unnoticeable in FPSC.

Hey dude could you please do me a video game case with the Madden 10 cover art on it? I just need it to be normal video game box sized and I included the cover art to help you out. If you could do this, it would help me out a ton.
Thanks,
Ryan

Ok, sure. But make sure it's not copyrighting anything. I'll PM you when I need textures.

Here's part one, guys.

Phone + Grapple

Be aware, I will be updating this as we continue, so if you wish, you can download it now, but the next pack will contain the same stuff, but with new stuff aswell.

Enjoy!

Wow quick reply. Thanks a ton and it's legal to do it, I'm not adding it to a commercial game or anything.

Oh one more quick question, could you give me a general time line as to when it will be done? It's no rush to complete it, I just don't want to drive myself crazy checking this thread every hour if it's going to take a week or something.

Again thanks for doing this and making the FPSC community better.

Thanks Dude, you're great

I already uploaded it. Just go to my first post and look to the far right corner and you can download and view it.

Just to be on the safe side I did it on this post too. It's on the far upper, right corner.

BTW I only want cover art for the front, the back can be white.

I hate to do this, but could you make 3 different textures for Madden 10, 09, and 08. I have all the textures and all you need to do is slap them on the 3D model.

Here they are:
http://www.beyondhollywood.com/gallery/stills3/vince-young-madden-08-cover.jpg
http://www.kulbida.net/files/images/madden_09_front.jpg
and you already have Madden 10s cover art and the back can be white it doesn't matter.
