Hey all!

I was recently asked about how I rigged weapons so I decided to make a tutorial that I'll share with all you guys. I hope that it's not to hard to follow as I tried to do it as simply as I could, however now I look at it I worked quite fast but that's just how fast I work, well normally a little faster. Anyways here's the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxcdy1uZ5XE

I hope that this helps out a few people and I see a few more custom rigs around

Thanks,

Ben

Very nice tutorial, very complete. I use 3D Max, but the concepts should apply.

Thanks

hmm, if it took you 3 mins I'm sure it can be improved somehow. It takes me about 10-20mins on a normal weapon to get everything perfect. Meaning the ammo grabbed right, no gaps between the hand and gun, etc etc.

Then it takes another 10mins to edit the gunspec and extra stuff.

Thanks anyways

Well, it was only melee weapon.
Changed EAI's crowbar to better crowbar.

While following this method, the weapon is facing the opposite direction of the arms and hands when I import it, is this normal and should I place my gun backwards as well? Or is something messed up?

It depends on how the model was made as to where it is in comparison to the eai weapon. Just try to make it the same size and facing in the same direction as the eai gun.
