Hi again, all.
I present you with some more FPSC-ready media I made for the FPSC community.

First up, I give you the Gray Ornate Fantasy Segments pack. This pack contains 3 interchangeable dark gray fantasy segments, all utilizing bond1's ps3 segment shader.

This shader and others can be found at
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=178372&b=24

The pack also contains a pillar with no shader, but includes the Specular and Normal maps so that you may apply a shader of your choice.

Here is a screenshot and some sample images:

ORNATE FANTASY ADD-ON PACK
Due to a suggestion made by VaMpIr3, I have created an add-on package to the ornate fantasy pack. Note that you need the original pack for it to work correctly.

Next up, a collection of multi-purpose skyboxes:

I hope you find these useful.

Enjoy!

Isn't that texture in the ornate fantasy pack from the book "The Dark Side of Game Texturing" by David Franson? It looks pretty similar.

I hope I'm not being rude or anything, just want to clear this out.

Skyboxes look amazing!!

Many thanks, Tanya. And well-spotted, Abdul Ahad. As stated in the pack's readme, the segment textures were created using texturing teqniques described in that awesome book. This is merely my own take on the same formula. The base texture itself was completely generated in Mapzone, and the detail put in using photoshop.

Thank you very much, anayar. I have quite a few more packs planned, and am currently working on a very large derelict building pack, with segments and entities.

A good book. We have "3D Game Textures 2nd Edition" by Luke Ahearn. BlueFox uses that for her techniques. Both these books are a good purchase.

This is top-notch quality work, and you seem to have adapted the techniques very well.

Thank you for this.

My thanks, Blackfox. I am glad that people are finding these packs useful. Gives me even more of an incentive to make more. As for the book you mentioned, I will definitely be on the lookout for it, since I am always eager to learn new techniques and improve on my existing skills.

I especially like the 3 variations for the same texture and the Island-Water skybox.

Do you have a non-greyscale texture of these?

Any color would be fine =).

FPSCraft has been delayed (cancelled most likely) due to computer issues until further notice.

Very well then. . Will start on a coloured pack asap. I'll post it as soon as it's done. It should be up some time tomorrow, since I can't do much editing now. At work with a laptop with a touchpad and no mouse, so image editing is kinda iffy...

Excuse me, but can you please help me with installation? Sky boxes worked out fine, it's just the segments I can't get my head around. They just turn out as a white segment.. Thankyou.

Hi IntRepid Bullet. Sorry to hear that you are having troubles with the segments.

It seems that in your case, the fps files are not pointing towards the correct texture path. Did you ensure that you copied the 'Files' folder in the zip file directly into your main FPSC folder without changing it's folder structure?

Also, do you have bond1's shader pack installed?

If anybody else has this problem, please let me know.

Just a quick reminder that the fantasy segments now has an add-on pack of three new texture variations for the segment walls. Two new pillars have been added, and all the pillars now use bond1's Static Entity ps3 shader.

The download link is in the first post.

To everyone, thanks. Hehe. I am glad you like the mossy gray segment, Storyteller. Funny thing is, that one was a last minute addition that I threw together in a bit of a hurry, just so that I could have an extra variant in the pack.

To everyone who liked my work, I have a rather large fantasy pack in the works, which includes a huge collection of new segmentr, entities, characters and weapons. Once I have enough content completed, I will start a new thread to track the progress.
