Notes: after you pack the game you can put an image file named splash.bmp into the folder to replace the default unpacking files image.

I'm still experimenting and thinking of rewriting this to be smaller.
but I hope it's usefull. Currently working on manipulating the ingame screens, so hope that turns out well.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me in the past to understand FPSC and to everyone who inspired me on this forum.

I still have a lot to learn

still playing around with this but not ready to release it just yet.
rewrote program to lessen files.
added FPSC editing
Thanks to Gamebuilder for the suggestion.
Current progress so far:

can edit FPSC's ingame title screen (only change positions, images and background.

can edit FPSC's pause menu.

still need to do sound, loading screens, gameover screens, etc.

Yes, I have the loading screens and game over screens done, got sidetracked when my windows7 got destroyed somehow. good thing I keep my stuff on an external drive. was working on some linux stuff lately so it slipped my mind but I'll try to complete it this weekend.
still need to add the ability to change sounds

Cool man! But I myself have been having slight problems, like when I try to move a button, it gets stuck to the mouse and I can't get it off lol.

Ya, thats a transparency problem I havent been able to address at the moment, it only happens in transparent spots in the image. if you make the transparent background bigger and position a image pixel in the center of the image it wont do that.

progress so far:

found bugs when returning to the pause screen to reedit so my current
solution for the moment is that when you return to edit the pause menu you will have to reload your images, a temporary fix, but other screens remain fine.
added a test button to check button positions in FPSC game because sometimes the positions have been a little off. it only loads the FPSC game because the positions are fine for the main menu.
also cleaned up the files more in the built game.

hopefully tomorrow (if girlfriend stops whining about being on computer too much) it will be done.

bump,

Is there a new release of this yet.

Also Is there a way to change resolution options.

So say all common 16:9 & 16:10 resolutions from

1024×768 - 1920x1080

That would be awesome (:

Not too many people seem to actually comment....SO I guess I WILL say this, thanks for doing this for free man, it really means a lot to see someone take the time to make a working program and make it for free....Thanks Section 812

Thanks a lot Wicked, I greatly appreciate your comment. it was mostly stuff I already had but never thought of putting a drag n drop editor to. I dont have much free time but when I do I hope to refine this into like an FPSC suite, it still needs work to perfect what is already there .I have a lot of junk code layin around that I play with so I see no reason to charge for my hobby. I'm glad you can make use of it. eventually when all is perfected I'm looking into making it detect display resolutions and the ability to create new huds, but its just a hobby so be patient.
if you wouldnt mind could you post any bugs you see currently
even if I already listed them.

Thanks, Dave

Too bad YOU have to be the one to make this....FPSC is all about *shaders* and *Trying to make the best game that looks like xbox360* but we need the essentials like these....Uhhh I havn't found any bugs AT ALL in the latest version....All I could request adding is more stock GFX (Because a lot of new guys and gals don't really know how to make there own gfx) but...I guess I could help by making some gfx that I could donate to you...for free lol. If you don't want me to I under stand.

thats a great idea if you want to do that it would be great! you could email them to me at section812@yahoo.com, and I'll add them.
and I really wished that FPSC would have address the multiplayer issue (after seeing all the posts about it), I'm waiting for APEX mod to release, then hopefully I will have a true complete FPSC package.

it is too bad that they think that better graphics is more important.
I personally think that gameplay is the key to a good addictive game

What's the recent issue with multiplayer? Besides the fact that they don't do anything new with it...I use wasp mod, but I will look up APEX to see what it is... There also needs to be a fix for the save games....there is a lot of things they need to fix....

I'm just still not happy with multiplayers functionality in FPSC and the fact that the character select screen isn't fully customizable and you cant have a dedicated server, wich inspired a side project I have that loads my FPSC characters and weapons and can run server only, but its far from a beta at the moment. if apex does what it promises, I'll probably abandon it or shell it out free as another alternative. and the save game issue is also a big one for me, just feel like I cant release a bug free game yet with FPSC.

anyway, I had an Idea for the next update for Infector, I was thinking of a profile screen to log into a profile.
it would hide the savegames from other profiles.
its only on paper right now but would this be a good addition or just not that important?

Honestly...that's a great idea! Haha, that would be perfect. And I guess I have an idea...Let's say we have multiple "chapters" or "episodes" in one game, I guess you should be able to load different chapters (kinda like how the multiplayer map selection is )...then again I could probably just get vishnu packer, pack separate chapters, then RAR them, but it's up to you! And that multiplayer thing you got goin on sounds good too!

ya, thats a transparency problem, if your images are solid then its ok, but a pixel has to be in the center of the image. That will be fixed in the next release.

just a progress update,

image sticking to mouse is fixed for good.

create new profile turned out good, supports 8 profiles so far.

fixing the re edit of the pause menu is a pain in the butt.(still working on that)

still need to do the loading profile part, just a matter of getting free time.

I have an idea for the options menu...in the setup.ini there is this setting for lightmapquality=#...if you could change that from the options menu from 0-100 that would really boost loadtimes.....

ok, got it now with unlimited profiles
and lightmapquality setting
had to change the editor layout a bit to fit stuff in
still some bugs to work out but hopefully
it will be done soon.

when its done I plan to rewrite the whole thing so I can find crap easier, I didnt comment much... at all.
as I learn about FPSC's files and how they work, I keep getting Ideas and one is for a weapon selection screen, and I also believe I can replace the main menu alltogether.
another one rolling around is a small window in the menu that displays your website.
yep! a lot of experimenting to do.
Why?
cuz it's no longer about me man!
cuz I'm old and slightly overweight.
cuz I care!

na, really it's cuz I'm impressed with this community.

I'd be happy to make some stock GFX images.

I've noticed the quality of the video is kinda low is that the "infector" code or is it just the way you recorded it?

when you select the singleplayer button image then you right click on the image you loaded and browse for your game's .exe then it will copy all of the game files. after the build your game will be located in the folder "complete" you should copy that folder and rename it to fit your game because the next time you start the program the folder is erased. the same goes with the multiplayer buttons.

and your welcome!

if you already built and don't want to start over just locate the folder "singleplayer" in the complete folder and copy your game to there and rename your exe to "singleplayer.exe"
