Here is a tutorial model of a piece of paper which will display a hud onscreen when the player is close to it.
All the files and templates are provided for you to create your own message huds.

Alright, I need some help. I've tried for a good amount of time but I can't get this to work properly.

What I'm trying to do is have the player be near the object, click with the left mouse, and the player is disabled for the ammount I can determine. In the script, I have the player waiting for 37 seconds. I want to play a sound over the hud and the hud to stay on the screen for the same time that the player is disabled. After the time is up, the hud fades out, player is no longer disabled and the script ends.

Obviously this is a little over my head because I've tried over 10 variations of this and none of them worked. Can anyone help me?

@ASTEK:

Let's see, in state 0 you call for the HUD, label, etc. and then it calls state 10. Good...

State 10 looks fine.

Script looks good so far, but most of the conditions you have in state 11 are actually commands.

So instead of:

You would want something like this:

I think that'll do it. See if it works.

@Ross tra damus:

This will be helpful to everyone! Thank you for your kindness.

Hmmm. Thanks Coder but everything works except it actually showing the hud picture. Any idea why?
