@Mods Is there a possibility that this could be stickied? It will reduce the amount of threads that may come up about people asking how to use the limb finder. And you might find it hard to believe, but most of my friends that own FPSC, didn't even know the community guide existed, but they always read stickies. So that is the purpose of this thread.

Hi everyone,
this is my guide on how to use the limb finder by The Scene Commander. Before you start you are expected to have already extracted the "Limb Finder for FPSC Characters.zip" file and have the extracted folder open.

1. Place your model in the "models" folder
2. Place the model's texture in the same folder and give it the same name as the model. So, if your model is Wehrmacht.x, and the texture was at first called Wehrmacht_1_D2.dds then the texture should be renamed to Wehrmacht.dds.
3. Open the limb finder and your model should appear in the list.
4. Export the limbs AND the limb names. You will need the limb names if you are using the latest version of FPSC.
5. Open up the characters .fpe file and look for something like this:

below it, paste the limb data (not the names). If you are using Wehrmacht (Unarmed).fpe, then it should now look like this:

Now open up the limb names.
If you are using the Wehrmacht, then it should look like this:

These refer to the limb numbers that you will now use for that entity when using the scalelimb, hidelimb and showlimb commands. For example, to hide the wehrmacht's head, you would do this:

Hi TZK

At first, I thought I wouldn't need this new fancy addition, but after looking through the tutorial I am imagining probabilities for it in my game. Thank you very much for the eye-opener.

@elbow and @Ross tra damus
You're both welcome
Oh, and also, when the polygon collision is on, you can use the shotdamagetype commands. So, you can do this when the left arm is shot, or this when the right leg is shot. Or blow all the model's limbs off when shot in the head. The possibilities are endless! And when you learn how to edit limb numbers, you can edit entities like helicopters and doors, and scale and edit them!

@Northern
It is in the 'Tools' folder that should be in your FPSCreator folder.
So, by default it should be in:
C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Tools
or on a 64-bit computer:
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Tools

Hello The Zombie Killer,

Yes, the file is inside the Tools folder. In fact, I did not know about it.

Thank you so much for your information.

Cheers,
