Now, I know there is a LOT of Scifi media out there up for grabs and most of it is free; but, I have been making some Scifi stuff because i am continuing work on my game Touch of Fear which is primarily a Scifi based game.

I thought that i had used a lot of media from all the talented modelers, texture artists, segment creators and scripters; so, i guess its my turn to give back.

As i said, this media has been designed for MY game, so, it might not to be everyone's taste. If you like it - great, take it and use it, if not......sorry. I might make something you like in the future.

This pack may take a while to form as i am still working on a lot of ideas of what sort of 3D environmental items i need.

That being said, if anyone has any idea's of what my game could use in terms of models, textures, etc, give me feedback and i will have a go at creating the suggestions (therefore releasing them in the pack)

So far on the list of items i need to make:

Complete -
Modeled -
Textured -
Not started -

Road Barriers -
Power Boxes -
Street Lights -
Internal Lights -
External Wall Lights -
Animated arms/Hands for Walls -
Floor Rubble -
Electrical Barrier -
Fences -
Telepods -
Arm Canon -
Pistol -
Glove weapon -
Companion -

Added to the list

an R2D2-ish service bot -
a NASA space suit -
Service vehicle (submarine for deep space work) -
mixture of less generic outdoor scenery -

If anyone would like to see anything added to the list, please let me know.

Oh, to keep you all interested, i have attached a nice 5 image render of the companion.

This little guy will follow you around as your friend and help you through your journey.

EDIT - For Some reason, i forgot the obligatory in-game screenshot! My apologies.

What's that in the dark.....?!

Oh, It's him!

I like your model very much, I would like to talk to you about a community pack I'm trying to get started, if your model had arms it would be perfect for the pack.

@wraith staff

Thanks for the nice comment. Is there anything you would like to see in the pack?

@zwarte piet

Send me an email mate. I will see what I can do. I could turn the side jets into arms. Shouldn't be too tricky and would add some versatility to the animations.

your pure design... cool...the energyfield is very nice done, hope its bubbling around.

a r2/d2-kind of servicebot would be nice and would fit to the compagnion designwise. also a more or less bold spacesuit (nasa-like) wasnt done yet as far as i know. some 2001-sort of submarine-like service-vehicle for working in open space (would also fit in your design). all around not that shooter-alien-doom-strange kind of things, the more technic-styled as in about 30 years in the future would be cool for this to set apart from the other scifi-packs and would fit for Touch of Fear, too.
edit: oh, and an alternative to the all-the-time-allknown-stock-autodoor would be awesome.^^
work on, a good chance that i am your customer.

@jmtmew

Thanks for the comment. I hope you continue to like it as it progresses.

@maho

The energy field changes in colour to give a glowing effect.

So, the items you would like to see in the pack are,

* an R2D2 service bot
* a NASA space suit - (do you mean as a static entity or that you wear?)
* Service vehicle (submarine for deep space work)
* and some less generic outdoor scenery

I will get cracking on these with the other items listed.

I hope i can do you proud.

This pack won't be for sale! Once it is complete, i will be giving it all away for free.

I know i shouldn't double post, but, I think this needed it's own post.

I have been working on a few new items for the pack.

C&C is always wanted!!

So, starting with a weapon.... introducing, the ArmCannon.

This is fully rigged and animated and also take advanced weapon animations. (when you press 'use' on a light switch, the weapon=less hand will reach out to activate the light switch)

Here is the weapon

Reloading

Entering a code

Using a light switch

Picking up a key

Here is a Multi Screen Computer

A Single Light Post

Light Barrier

Energy Field

Double Light Post

Thats all for now folks.

If you have any C&C, please feel free to express any opinions.

Hi Guys,

I have been very busy with actual life rather than the game world!

But, as per request of Saint Areon, here is a short video to showcase the animations involved in my new weapon (above)

Hope you enjoy it.

There are still a few things that i need to finish with the gun such as the muzzle flash and some of the sounds etc, but, C&C is always wanted!!

Looks like there is going to be some great stuff in the Pack.

Good luck with this.

Hi unfamillia

I love the small bot and weapon, but the arm and excellent hand stole the show. Well done on the progress made. The key pick-up, the realistic use of the keypad and the final weapon activation movements were truly exceptional.

@Ross,

Thanks for the comments. It means a lot coming from such a talented media artist such as yourself.

@elbow,

Thanks also for the comments. Glad you like the animations. There will be more added in time to come, so, i hope i can retain the style that you like so much.

@King Fluufs

Glad you like it mate. They are an 'obstruction decal', so they can inflict damage to the player as well as stopping them from passing through.

@everyone that is following this thread. There will be more added to the pack soon. I have recently purchased a lovely new Corsair SSD to speed things up a bit! I am in the process of moving everything across from my backup drive. Also, i have now installed X9 instead of using X10!!! I look froward to using all the features that X10 was lacking, lets see if it can hold my interest...

@gozzy1999

I'm ok thanks mate. This isn't a community model pack, I am only including models that i have made or will make for my game.

Thanks for the offer though, its very kind of you. I am sure someone will make use of it.

Unfamillia

EDIT - I am still working on this pack1 Don't worry people, i will be releasing it as soon as i am finished with my game.

In fact, it's because of my game this pack is taking so long!

Anyway, a small update for you today.

I am working on a new character (a bad guy!) Still very WIP at the moment

Ok,

I had an email telling me that Nathan38 had commented here asking for an expected completion date. Unfortunately, no such date exists.

This will be a free pack, so, please be patient.

However, while i am still working on it (for my game), i thought i might as well give away a few models for you all to play with and to get some C&C on them.

Here is the single lightpost.

it all looks really professional.

my only C&C about the arms is that you might want the left arm to drop out of sight while he's walking for more realism. i don't mean to sound like a D-BAG.

@seppgirty

Thanks for the advice. It makes sense for the arm to not be in view. I didn't think of that when i was animating it. It will add a little more realism. Thanks.

Although, i am redoing all of the animations ready to get it in to X9. I originally made it for the game i was making in X10.

The weapon should be available soon.

Fantastic work!

I really like your arm you created. It would be cool to have defferent modes for the arm (Switch weapon) Kinda like changing out the arm or changing to a different fire mode.

just an Idea.

But you hvae some very nive looking stuff, I really like it.
Looking forward to seeing more.

I could make the arm with every weapon that i create. Although, i do really only want one or two weapons in my game.

The idea is to use the arm as a weapon also, almost like using the force to push things back.

Still trying to get this to work.
