I need to install directx 9 for FPS Creator to work. Whenever I try to install it it says Directx 9 is not compatible with windows 8. How am I supposed to use FPS Creator now! I would really appreciate some help because I paid a lot of money for it and now I cannot use it!

As far as I know you shouldn't have any problems installing
DX9. Did you run it with "admin" rights? Others posting
on here do not seem to have this problem.

Directx 9 is for Windows XP.
Directx 10, directx 10.1 and directx 11 is for Windows Vista
Directx 11.1 is for Windows 7
Directx 11.2 is for Windows 8 and 8.1

So of course the installer from microsoft will not work! Now:
1) download it from another site(legal!!!)(possible not working)
2) Install your version over windows update or download it.
Download this if it not work
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
or google all need dll. There are many site which let you download it! Not use illegal sites!

I always install the sdk version and installs fine for me.

Windows 8.1 64bit version does need two dlls in the dir to run fpsc after the install.

I've attached them on this thread.

And yes system are diffrent my windows 8.1 is a upgrade from windows 7 so maybe a fresh install does not work as I still have aero thats not even in windows 8.1

I did this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 and I googled all free dll's. I can't get it to work! On the screensetup I click that download directx 9 and it doesn't work. Did I just waste hundreds of dollars? If so I want a refund because they never said it would be like this on windows 8.
