I created this game in DBPro for the Caiman Easter Competition and figured I might as well share it here as well .

In this game ("The Little Eggy That Could"), you star as an egg who's on a mission to collect all the candy of the lands. See, the Easter Bunny became sick just one day before Easter, and now he's assigned you (the Easter Egg) to carry out all of his candy-collecting duties. You must make your way through each level while picking up all of the candy that is there to collect. After all of the candy has been collected, a "Golden Egg" will appear which you must locate and jump into in order to be transported to the next level or world.

Being the egg that you are, you must be very careful to avoid hazards and to drop only a safe distance before landing each time; otherwise you'll turn into scrambled eggs in an instant! Several powerups and the ability to double-jump should also prove useful throughout the game as you collect the candies. There are 25 levels spread across five different worlds.

There is no attachment, and the 3rd link (yousendit.com) was the fastest for me

VERY well made, I'd bet money that you will win at least $100

couple things i would suggest:
make the shadow transparent... I'd suggest that if it's an image just texturing the ground to use a PNG and make it partially transparent.

and make the LEFT/RIGHT keys a bit less sensitive (unless theres a way to change the sensitivity in the menu, didn't look )

but very good job!

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions, Joel! I did try to attach the game to the post but it failed twice.

Speaking of shadows, I actually had it semi-transparent originally but if I recall it caused a fair deal of troubles showing up over the platforms (which are also semi-transparent). Adding customizable turn sensitivity also sounds like a good suggestion.

It does work, however the catch is you must beat each world fully in order to unlock each of its levels - otherwise only the first level of the world will be available. I did this to add more of a challenge to the game since the levels don't generally take long to get through individually. So, once you beat World #1 you will be able to continue from Level 2-1, or any of the World #1 levels.

Oh right, I didn't see that in the readme(and didn't quite finish the 5th level of the first world ).

I thoroughly enjoyed what I played of this game.

This is one of the few games I've downloaded on here I'm going to not delete so I can play more later. Great job, and good luck on the compo... I'm sure you'll do great

Very impressive game. Felt quite proffetional, and in general, the art style was quite good.

Sadly though, I could not bring myself to really enjoy it. The sheer number of levels and characters is amazing, but I just couldn't get used to the contorls, and the platforming was too much based on acuracy for me. Exelent game though, just not my type I guess.

I have no dbout that you go far in the compo, if not win it.

Yeah, pretty much the same as Bizar Guy. Less precision based would be nice...and less sensitive, as has been said.

Today I released a small update to my game after receiving some feedback from more of those who have played it. The only big change is that users can now manually set their turn sensitivity. I also decreased the default sensitivity a bit (from 18.0 to 16.0) which makes controlling the player somewhat easier. Brief instructions are below:

- To manually set the turn speed, create a text document titled "turnspeed.txt" and place it inside of the root TLETC folder. Inside of this text document, enter any number value. I highly recommend keeping it between 14.5 (slow) and 20.0 (fast) or else you might have difficulties completing turn-jumps on levels which may require them.

- In addition, you may now display the frames-per-second by creating a blank text document titled "showfps.txt" and placing it inside of the root TLETC folder.

Updated download links are provided below. You can either download the full game again or just an update file which includes the EXE and a revised Readme file. I've also attached an update-only RAR file to this post (I hope).

The results are in! I came in 7th place . Out of the top 15 rated games, I think that 8-10 of them were created in DB/DBPro!

Not a bad game at all - well done.

Very impressed with the menu system. Must have taken as long to do that as the actual game, but it really makes all the difference to the look and feel of everything.

Wow. Good game! I don't like how the egg cracks when you fall just a little too much, but it is very fun.
