New model pack from bond1 coming out hopefully in a few days.

-21 new COD-style military themed zombies, WW2 and modern day themed
-all use hit zone so they will react realistically depending on which body part is shot
-shoot fast moving zombies in the legs to slow them down, they will fall and crawl!
-notice in the video below: No longer will they come straight at the player. They will run in a flanking motion, or will follow a zigzagging meandering path. This makes them much harder to hit!
-animation biped file and template included

This pack doesn't use ragdoll. Once ragdoll kicks in, there is absolutely no way to turn it off - and it just kills framerate even with just one or two characters.

Stupid Military zombies! Should have kept their weapons. They must be Marines. Where is the face-palm emoticon?
It's just amazing to see how far we've come since V1.0. The models, animations, hit boxes, all very sweet. A must have for any zombie game.
Was it just me that missed it or is this the first warning/announcement about this pack?

Brian.

I like the marching officer zombie - he's desparately trying to hold on to his humanity. I saw a similar animation in Black Ops, so I tried to replicate it.

All scripts are interchangeable between characters, so you can customize them. There are 8 scripts in all - open them up in notepad to see a decsription at the top.

Yes this is the first I've announced this pack. TGC is out of office until Sept. 19th, so when they get back in a few days I hope this can be ready for sale!

The shadow shader is a slightly improved version that is truly perspective, so it doesn't rotate with the character and maintains orientation. We're still a FPSC update away from having it truly respond to lights - I have it working with my custom FPSC mod and I will submit the changes for the next version of FPSC. But for now, you can specify a light position directly in the shader.

I don't hope I'm asking to much here, but can you make this pack FPS creator X10 compatible ? If this modelpack has an X10 version then it will be so cool to put about 60 zombies in a hauntedhouse and kill/slay them all !

Thanks everyone!

This will probably be a $19.99 pack, no more than $24.95. I was able to re-use and rehash a lot of my previous animations to save work. I'm also a Physx beta tester for 3ds max, so I was able to generate a lot of death animations quickly as well. From there is was down to making a lot of modular zombies that could be assembled in various ways, and of course working out the scripts, which was a good bit of work.

Finally!!!!!

@bond1: You have no idea how I've been waiting for a pack like this.

The only thing I am missing, are weapon using zombies like the ones I dreaded so much playing STALKER.

Great pack, will definitely buy it.

EDIT: Since you seem to have no project running atm I have kind of a request: The only variation your TF 341 pack misses is a male soldier without combat equipment. The plain dressed females make great doctors, engineers or prisoners so it would be a great addition to have a plain male too.

I thought Errant made all of the TF 341 Pack 53, or did i miss understood who did it!

Model pack info here
http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2287

But yes a good idea of the male soldier
And maybe a TaliBan Zombie pack would make an nice edition to the modern erra!

My fault Guess I fell for that, because the Modern Soldier Zombies fit the 341 Models quite well.

But since bond1 obviously did German Wehrmacht textures I could ask him to do some non-zombie models of those instead

A description of the scripts, all are interchangeable:

*fast moving zombies
*slow moving zombies
*playing dead zombies that will crawl when player is close

*with some variations:
-shooting in the legs from a distance ALWAYS makes them fall and crawl
-shooting in the legs SOMETIMES makes them crawl (randomly)
-shooting in the legs NEVER makes them fall and crawl

OTHER RULES:
-headshot ALWAYS is an instant kill
-final death sequence depends on which body part is shot
-some zombies will come straight at player, some will run diagonally in a flanking motion, others will zigzag

Hey Bond, The flesh textures in the pics, and video, look fantastic! Are you using a new shader for these? Or is this the original "zombie_apocalypse.fx" shader from the first pack?

Thanks Cosmic - I'm always tweaking stuff.

This shader was made for this pack. It uses Valve's half-lambert lighting model, which gives it a softer look, better for skin. It also uses Nvidia's DXT5nm normal map format, which is much smoother than a regular normal map, less compression artifacts. And of course the specmap has a lot to do with it too.

This shader also only uses 2 bones for animation, instead of the normal 4 bones. I wanted these characters to render very fast so you could have a lot of them onscreen, so I rigged them only using 2 bones per vertex, so the shader only has to do half the work.

Bond please i'm begging you to make a barrier segment with some wooden boards that the zombies break and go through! Then I would probably buy it! You should also add some special zombies like the fire zombie from Black ops on the map Shanger La or something like that. Or maybe like the screamer from the same map

Great work Bond1

I'm new to the FPSC modeling so Im curious where you found "hit zone" stuff? Is that FPSC X10?

Did you have to animate a custom fall down animation for each hit zone? I assume so since you said they arent using ragdoll.

Nice work!

They're equally split - about 10 of each.

Quote: "Im curious where you found "hit zone" stuff? Is that FPSC X10?"

No this feature is not available in X10.

Quote: "Did you have to animate a custom fall down animation for each hit zone"

Yes there are several animations for EACH body part, that get triggered randomly. I think you all will be surprised how much harder these zombies are to hit with perfect polygon hit detection, no longer is there a large invisible box surrounding the character, so your aim will need to be good!

Great stuff bond1, but when are you goign to let us all know how to use the animations and scripting with our custom models?

You did say on another thread regarding your model pack 52, you would explain the shader stuuf like burning after dead etc.

Are you able to disclose this info so we can get more out of your great packs?

Thanks and all the best!
