i don't think it is really possible to texture in wings 3d. you can zap a screenshot straight onto the object, but you can't then export the texture. it is possible to UV map ready for a later program, but you are muchbetter off trying to UV map in a another program. i recommend blender. it's uv mapping is really easy once you know how.

uh, wings3d uv mapping is 100 times more simple then blender's...you just need to know how to do it. It's not hard...you just have to prepare your model before unwarapping by setting where you model will be cut up by selecting the lines and right click - hard edge...then it really depends on your experience in unwrapping to determain how it unfolds, this is just done through practice, and trial/error. last you do unwrap direct, then move and scale the cut up peices where ever you want on the uv map....then just right click and put to texture, and there yah go, unwraped...then just go to your media list menu and export the uv map. you can choose the size from 256-2048 squared respectivle.

I agree with moondog. I've only just discovered the joys of wings3D.
I sat down at the weekend to learn to use it's uv mapping tool and found it to be, like its modeling tools, very easy to use and produce excellent results.
I've used lithunwrap and like it but its no where near as good as the wings uv mapping tool (of course, IMHO). Also lithunwrap detatches all the vertices when unwrapping, so if you do use it make sure you re-weld all verts in your modeling package.
