Hey! Rich (and everyone else) I've just got an adaptor for the Gamecube controller(the best controller ever) for my PC and all the DBPro input commands read all the buttons and main analog stick but the smaller analog (yellow controller) only sends "joystick Z axis" information. (eg: there are 4 axis' with 2 analog sticks and I can only read 3 with the current command set).

Obviously, using the Gamecube controller is an exception but there are many new PC controllers which now feature TWO analog sticks and I was wondering if the input commands in patch 5 might
have an extra command to read a second analog stick in the same controller. Or is there a work-a-around? (Apart from coding a DLL!)

From the dbpro help under commands/input.

JOYSTICK SLIDER A : Return Integer=JOYSTICK SLIDER A()
JOYSTICK SLIDER B : Return Integer=JOYSTICK SLIDER B()
JOYSTICK SLIDER C : Return Integer=JOYSTICK SLIDER C()
JOYSTICK SLIDER D : Return Integer=JOYSTICK SLIDER D()
JOYSTICK TWIST X : Return Integer=JOYSTICK TWIST X()
JOYSTICK TWIST Y : Return Integer=JOYSTICK TWIST Y()
JOYSTICK TWIST Z : Return Integer=JOYSTICK TWIST Z()

One of those should be the other axis. Works on my many axis control pad.

On the second controller (at least for my thrustmaster gamepad):

left/right is JOYSTICK TWIST Z()
up/down is JOYSTICK SLIDER A()

Unfortunately, these commands return values on a different scale to the standard JOYSTICK X() and JOYSTICK Y(), so you'll have to adjust the scale.

If you need help sorting it out, just post here.

Hmmm - a GameCube/PC adaptor? I think I'll have to see if I can find a Dreamcast/PC adaptor, since they're much nicer pads, and they're infinitely better than my current PC pad.

I only found one company that does it and it is in America. I got it off Ebay.co.uk - from some guy who trades under the name of Gameressentials or gamingessentials. He has adaptors for Xbox and PS2 aswell. just type in for an Ebay search "Gamecube to PC" and you might get something. Type "PS2 to PC" or "Dreamcast to PC" too. You can also get N64 adaptors. But I favour the gamecube one myself.

Cheers for the help guys! I'll give it a try when I've some free time.

Wicked, I'll have Mario/Zelda free-camera and razor sharp 3-person control before you know it! ...

Anyone managed to do it already?!

god only knows why anyone would want an xbox one i think the game cube has got the best controllers out the current consoles. X-Box one is horrible, and the ps2 analogue sticks are in annoying places.

The PS2 controller has far too many buttons aswell. Well designed games don't need all those buttons!
(Please refer to Zelda/Mario/Metroid Prime... )

Have you played Medal of Honour on the PS2? The controls are so OVER complicated and clunky...

And Yes, I am Gamecube biased. I've got one. And have every right to be...
