Hi

I am in the process of getting my game into v 1.04. I figured out pretty much every issue but one so far and I can't figure it out. My enemies are now sinking halfway through the ground when I test the game. They were fine in version 1. And they are correct in the map editor in v 1.04 as well. It is just when you run the game they are sunk to the waist. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks
Dennis

I have had that problem with some custom characters but haven't been able to fix it. I emailed Lee days ago and haven't gotten a response yet.

Often a shader/graphics card problem. Try using no shaders in your build, or looking for the effects line in the fpe and making sure this dosen't have that string noted. Deleting it or comment it out. If this dose not work it can be a graphics card issue. I'm sure there are other reasons, but check these.

I tried that and still no luck. The dog is the character, I have trouble with. And it worked fine with every version except this new RC 10 upgrade.

Hmmm...I believe S4 had a problem with that char as well. He's away in the studio though for a few days. All I can say is we ended up going back to 9 because s4 had to many problems in 10. I didn't suffer the same as he did, so it's the nature of the FPSC beast to be very inconsistant. I'd just advise going back to 9 or at least using 2 cppies and only update one copy to 10.

Good luck

I spent all yesterday messin around with this. Basically I can get him on the ground properly by moving the whole mesh down halfway in fragmotion and milkshape, or if I just move the root bone down. I was really excited about this but now there is another problem. When I shoot the enemy he doesnt get hit except his bottom half when i set him up like this. There is no blood, no hit when I shoot him above his belly. When he is set to regular ground plane in the 3d apps and he goes through the floor, the part of him that sticks out can be hit, his top half. This is something very sensitive about the root bone and I can not figure it out. Does anyone have any ideas? I hope I explained this ok. When I can figure this out I will have a playable level to share.

Thanks.

Thanks max. I tried that and it didn't work.

But great news. I got everything working! The only thing that I can tell that I did differently was enter the values for scale and correct y axis instead of leaving them blank in the entities maker. I have the frog standing on the ground plane in the 3d apps and in fpsc now and it is working great. I definitely kicked into some kind of OCD mode yesterday going nuts to figure this out lol. I hope this helps someone.

I will be posting a playable level soon as I figure out why my alpha mapped signs are leaving rectangular shadows.

I had this problem too (amongst a whole bunch of others with 1.04), if you download the free stormtrooper (search in models and media) he has that problem.

1.04 fixes the issue with scaled characters, but dennis you're right, you now HAVE to specify a scale in the FPE. It would also help to delete the old DBO and BIN, as they were created by your V1 FPSC.

I'm glad you figured this out dude, it was bugging me for ages!
