I wouldn't call it "perfect" (and I built the site!!!) but it does the job for now. The full site will of course be released along with the product itself.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Just think of it this way, TGC are millionaires, so they can buy any thing they want, maybe not chicks, but any thing else, sure.

( I'm sure you get the chicks too)

I know Ive told some people I wont be using fpsc x10, but Ive signed up to the announcement list. If vista becomes more stable and more supportive, ill swap.

I will never use Vista and over XP Pro it does not represent:

1) Value for money
2) Increased security
3) Better features
4) A killer Application
5) Increased stability

Based upon the above Vista has no reason to exist except purely as a means to make Micro$oft more money.

In addition we are expected to get a whole load of new computer upgrades just to run the OS!

I'm sticking with Windows XP Pro, it isn't broken and don't need fixing. If it was not for a few Applications that I really like then I would be ditching anything to do with Micro$oft fast.

Can we count on it that future patches for FPSC will continue to be available for XP users?

There is supposed to be a final release for FPSC.When it will happen is not known at this time.
You will update to Vista sooner or later. We all will. It's just a fact of life.I admit it sucks but it will happen.

Get a Mac and you'll see that XP Pro is very broken!

But let's face it. TGC is a business and since they know that eventually XP will no longer be supported, they've got to make plans to move. We've got a few years left on XP. However, one more release like v1.04 and they may not be around to see Vista become dominant.

You can get Windows apps running in Linux. My friend is running Ubuntu on his machine and has all of his Windows apps on it too.

I know Vienna was started back in the 90s, but if they get it out on shelves by 2009 I'll sell my first born. The massive Vista launch delay will domino on for who knows how long. And in that time the killer PC game choices will become less and less. And even when Vienna does eventually come out, if anyone expects it to drop all the changes seen in DX10 and relevant hardware in favour of backtracking to the DX9 era, I think they're sorely mistaken.

I see the demo is getting negative reviews by the competition but that can be expected.

For you guys that don't want to update your OS ... keep using DOS because it never broke.

Better stuff will always be coming out ...duh ... and I want it!
I just have to wait until the price comes down or pay through the nose to be the first.
Nothing new to that cycle except the things in it.

I just hope the new pack with the melee characters will be out in time for the X10 version of FPSC.
I am planning an system upgrade to Dual Core running Vista. (I need the 32 bit version of Vista, right?)
The next hurdle will be the $500 for the GeForce 8800. ( unless the 320mb version will do @ $325)

HOW MUCH IS THE FPSC-X10 going to cost ???

I can't test out the new system yet, as I don't meet the requirements, but will the editor work from something other than the bird eye view. Will we be able to work from the X, the Y, and the Z axis seperatly?

One last thing, will the new version work with entities created in MAYA and maintain the frames created?

Also for those of us who don't have the ability to demo yet, can some post a video of this thing in action (Rendered games and a the editor itself)

because this is a $50 engine!!! Why do you expect it to be a do-all engine??? Next thing you would ask is will it allow you to make an anti-grav gun or time-warping machine.

These would be serious questions too...but not at all general!! How many people do you think really want a goo shooting gun??? And you think Lee will implement that just for you??

I hope you work more on the XP (DirectX 9 Version) as most people say vista is insecure now, maybe in a year or two I'll go over.

I'd rather code games for XP than vista to be honest, I don't care about the "extra" quality thingy, I like normal games my way!

I expect software that is not loaded with bugs. That would make me happy. A system that works off the shelf. I don't care if I have to pay 450 if it would work properly I would be happy. The rest of my questions are curiousities of things I would like to see. My main problems are all the bugs that are currently in the system now.

Heck, I can't even get it to compile a game without freezing up

If you've got that kind of cash to spend then by all means buy a different engine.
Are you not paying attention?Lee has posted and maybe you should read his post again...really slow this time.
For those of us that have been around quite a while we have come to deal with this.
There are various updates for FPSC and solutions to quite a few problems with it.
Look around...you might be surprised.

You have "heard" that vista is insecure?! Where, your friends at school or some drivel like that? It is far more secure than XP.

pleading and needing and bleeding and breeding and feeding exceeding..where is everybody? trying and lying defying denying crying and dying..where is everybody?
