Ok, attatched is the source for a program to interpolate two textures.

Now look where the sync is...why is nothing displayed on the screen? If I move the sync command and place it right after dot x,y or next x then the program works fine.

You need another sync because your display is being double buffered, just duplicate the sync line.

http://futuretech.mirror.vuurwerk.net/polygons.html Go there then scroll down to double buffered vs single buffered, that should help explain things.

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

That just confused me even more. It just talked about the advantages and disadvantages of double buffer but it didnt really say what it actually was.

You don't really need to worry too much about what double buffering is as a DB programmer but for a really simple explanation i'll try - not technically accurate but covers the concept:

You draw to a screen in the background, and when it is ready you copy that to the front.

If you drew to the screen in the front and the monitor refreshed before you are finished you may get a half-drawn image.
