Seerzack,
Greetings. It's good of you to share this. The retexturing certainly does give the Thug a different look! You should always take pride in your work.
When I look at your screenshots, it's very hard to see a demon. The turquoise colored skin actually provides more of an alien visual, than a demonic one...at least in a way that the observer can readily identify with.
Prince Of Darkness' observation is well supported. I doubt if he meant to be overly critical with the comment. He merely stated the obvious.
The color shifts, especially in the skin tones, appear to be just a simple inversion, or RGB manipulation, of the original Thug texture.
Coming from a lengthy background of photography and graphic art, I know what human flesh looks like as a negative image. This new skin
screams negative image...
Other than adding blood spatter, an armband, and color fills to the existing clothing, there really hasn't been a great deal done to the original texture. That's okay, but it does still make it highly recognizable, and not very exciting. Demons in tank tops? I just don't see the connection...
Posting something on these boards that most users could duplicate in a few keystrokes in Photoshop, is going to draw out critical comments...most of which are actually positive, to encourage development and improvement.
Best of luck to you, in all of your future endeavors. I look forward to seeing the demo for
Devil, down the road.
Thanks,
Seth Black
