He's not going to. He's going to attempt the show/unshow hud commands then figure out it sucks up his frame rate by constantly checking to see if it should show or hide a hud.

Hey I'm one of the few guys around that will tell you "If you can push the limits, I'll even help". But theres no point in this. Been tried. We all know it can be done, but has horrible results.

Till we see the possible addition of 'Dark AI' theres not much chance a minimap/radar is going to work.(Well, work and not drag the game down)

Actually, if you take a look at the October 2004 demo video of FPSC, when it was still in production, it had a radar, but I suppose TGC must have taken it out. I wonder why?

Well, good luck! Just to test you, what program are you using to edit the source code?

The flaw in your logic is that the source code that has been released is for version 1.0 and there have been numerous updates/upgrades to FPSC since then.
While I have looked at the FPSC source code to get an idea of how something works and could even thoretically make a mod of the source code I am going to wait until a later version of the source code for FPSC is released before I do any serious mods to the source code as what I am doing with FPSC is incompatible with the v1 source code.

As long as you understand that a lot of people cannot use the mod to the source code because they have upgraded.

It would be pretty cool though; maybe you could e-mail empty with your code snipit and tell him to add it in his mod

It's spelt difficult

But you still have the same problem.Anybody who is using anything other than v1 wouldn't be able to use the mod.

If nothing more it's good practice. I thought he was just trying to make a radar script. But using DB even on version one will yield lots of clues and code he can adapt when the new source is released.
