I just noticed I cant cap the sync rate for my program, no matter how many times I put in the line "sync rate 60", my fps act like sync rate is set to 0, jumping all the way up to 111 at times. Im using patch 4, is this a known bug? Or is there some new trick to setting the sync rate in dbpro?

Thanks in advance

Hmmm am I the only one with this problem? I included a simple example program, that for me at least, gives a steady 66fps, even when the sync rate is set to 60. The problem seems multiplied several times in my real program, because the syncrate is set to 50, yet I get a steady 111 fps.

I dont think its my system, but here goes...

AMD Athlon 1.4Ghz
256m DDR Crucial ram
128m Geforce 4 TI 4200 vid card
Win 98 fe
DB pro patch 4

Am I really the only one experiencing inaccurate sync rate results?

I think it's actually that the screen fps() command is off (2/8 fps or so). I recall Mike mentioning this. If I set the sync rate to 30, I get 33, if I set it to 20, I get 22... wait, and you get 66 at 60? Seems it's just off by 1/10th of the full value .

yes, sync rate is not perfect, for most people it is off by +- 10%, if you need more precision then that, just write a timer function to update the screen on a time base, there are several examples of this around here.
I've never seen a sync jump up like that 50 - 111, I don't know why it's so extreme on you computer.
