Woah, howdy there indi long time no see. You seem to be a big fish around here now. I remember when you first started using DB and made some demo with this little guy and the camera. Wish I stuck to DB could have been way more advanced now I can hardly write a simple text editor in DB(did that last night) Been spending to much of time working on networking, got my MCSE, CCNA, Network+, A+ and linux+ certs and programming got put on the back burner. Except for a little C++ that I needed to know to write a few simple programs I needed.

Anyways, I was thinking of getting DBpro to play around with and see if I can make something with it. Is DBpro worth it? I mean I don't know if I would be able to use it to much but think it might be worth getting just to have it.

Quote: "Write Incredible 3D Games, Applications and Presentations With Ease
Back in 1999 we started the revolution of game making on the PC with the award winning DarkBASIC.
Now we're back with the most awesome language the PC market has ever seen - DarkBASIC Professional (DBPro). The whole engine has been re-written from scratch to ensure it uses the latest 3D technologies and provides blisteringly fast results.

No matter what type of game you desire to make, DarkBASIC Professional has the power to handle them all. It does all this and remains the easiest programming language to learn.

I really think that's, how one might put it, 'nuff said.

I think its worth it smart ass because its like DBC on Steroids and all those Classic memories of features you wished would work faster are now totally doable and possible.

nice to see you back mate, we need some input from you at times to quell those arguments down.

...and aside from it going slower than DBC in a lot of cases and crashing all the time and a lot of it's features not really working yet... yeah it's really cool.

Id say it's more like DBC on bad heroin than on steroids. Or maybe the steroids haven't fully kicked in yet. But I'm still waiting for the next patch.

SmartAss, Hi there, you don't know me but just thought I'd say hello, was intreagued with the certs up there m8, Kewl .

Have to admit, I still think Linux is quite possibly the most awesome O/S I've ever had the pleasure of using. I've got Mandrake v9 on here at the mo, love it. Anyway, nice one!

In what respect? I started with RedHat first but the Mandrake setup procedure seemed a bit more friendlier. I suppose each distro has their good and bad points so if I had used Debian, I might agree but I have no basis for comparison.

EDIT: Probably not the appropriate place to get into a discussion about Linux anyways lol

Aye 'tis not, goto the website, or look it up on google, but in all respects, you are right each one has their good and bad points.

I still admit, I think Mandrake is a good distro. It takes a bitch of a time to download (although my first version was on CD), I'm that used to using the setup procedure, plus a good version of the latest libs, and most 3D manufactureres support it, why change?
