I've been messing about with trying to make the streetlight from the WW2 folder light up, I placed a light marker there and that is fine but the lamp itself is dull and not lit.

How can I make it look like the streetlight is giving off the light?

Don't tell me to search, I've done that and read the manual.

The most realistic way is to use LYTE-FX, from Butter Fingers, there's a topic on it in the Models & Media Forum.

Are you placing the light marker inside the light, or next to it. I used 2 lights, one at each opposing corner....just in front of the glass. That seemed to work.

Press page up to move the entity up or down.
If I were you, i would edit the texture where the lightblub is, to make it look brighter.

@ Vernon, £10? thanks but my budget for buying software is spent for the next couple of months It's the actual streetlight I am having a problem with not directional lighting as such.

@ Keith, I place it on the same level as the streetlight more or less just in the same place. I'll try infront of the glass, thanks.

@ Smitho, good ideas, thanks to you too.

If you place the light inside the streetlight it probably won't work.
Your best bet is to do what Keith said.
What Smitho said is not a bad idea either.
