Hello everyone. I have some news that disturbed me. I found that Amazon.Com will not sell games unless it is through one of their own vendors that they go through. So, that rules out my plan. They do allow people to sell books, CD's etc. but not software and e-books or things like that. However here are some resources I do know about as well as a solution for people who want to get a UPC number for their game if they want to try to sell it in stores themselves. The provider is legitimate and is in the US in Atlanta.
I am listing this information, because I understand that I do not have connections with Wal-Mart, Meijers and other places. I do have contacts, but not the largest. I just felt this would give people an alternative to being able to sell their games and get such things as UPC codes as well as some indie info.
I myself am not going to go this route. I figure that such places as Amazon.Com had to start somewhere. I am willing to continue building my contacts and own establishments within the industry. EGameStudio.Com has gone further then what I expected. I can see it has large potential for the internet. I think it cna go further then the Internet. I believe it can become a big thing in the near future, especially since there are some great titles for sale. I plan on taking EGameStudio.Com to the next level. It will take some time and will not happen overnight, but I am taking the necessary steps to do this. I understand that mot everyone will be wanting to wait around for this, so I have gathered some information to help them out in finding someone who can talk to the Wal-Mart people and have the contacts that Nano Games publisher has in Europe.
I am not quiting my efforts and will still help anyone who wants help. I am just saying that I do know my limitations as of right now. Some people may not be happy or impressed with independent stores, or may not like that I will not guarantee a merchandiser will pick them up. However, this is the way I operate, as I do not say I can do something unless I can.
I plan on joining the ranks of the big stores someday, but as of right now EGameStudio.Com just started and is not a big ranking name. So, here is some helpful information especially for the bar-codes. You can even get a EAN number, which is used for out of the country, form the same place as you get the bar-codes. If any of you want to register a legitimate company, then feel free to contact me and I will help you through the necessary steps. With this information you could register a small studio and sell through local stores and even out of area ones that do not require a ESRB rating.
I hope this helps anyone who wants the help. As for EGameStudio.Com we will be progressing. I will keep everyone updated on my titles. The "About Selling FPSC Games" thread I had I will keep open with updates about the store and add ons. I will let everyone know on any developments.
