A scroll that loops an image? Or something that just keeps on moving?

Well, if its for 3D:

2D is a little more involved, as its not a camera which really moves but everything else which moves. So if you have a bunch of sprites, you would be them all down by the same number (like speed variable above).

In Phaelax' snippet, shouldn't the variables x, y, z, tz and speed all be floats? Also, the call should be to position camera x#,y#,z#, not simply 'position' as listed. Lastly, since the x# and y# variables are not being changed, why not establish them prior to the main loop and then just update the z# variable in the loop itself? Just some thoughts. . .

You idiots! You've captured their stunt doubles!

whoops, yea its "camera position".

right, but I was only trying to get the scrolling idea across to him.

The variables really only need to be floats if the speed is a float. Typically you would want floats in most games because the player has control over the camera. But for this case where its moving at a constant speed in the same direction constantly, then there's no need.
