It's funny,
that not alot of us care about FPSC X10.
I mean, I speak for myself, mainly, but not everyone can just go buy Vista.

Half Life 2, in my opinion, which is DX9, looks better than what FPSC X10 can do. Just my thoughts and opinions.

i think its the fact that vista hasn't even proven itself yet. no offense but i think tgc jumped the gun a bit when not very many people have vista.

I think there are many people out there who really care about the X10 Version of FPSC, the only thing is they do not post every other minute on the forum.

Well i tried Vista and i am very satisfied with it. I was very suspicious too, but i just tried it and it is good. Ok some Apps which are very near to Hardware not work but thatswhy i have XP on a other Harddisk. Until now i only found 3 Apps not working properly, which all try to tackle Hardware directly.

Personally i am very very exited about the X10 Version and i really look forward to get it in my little sticky fingers

In April there will several nVidia 8600 series DX10 cards available.
I think price will be from $99 to around $279 USD.

It's just too bad TGC doesn't have more developers. I blame a lot of this on MS, though. TGC is going to have to keep up and competetive as far as technology goes. Since I just jumped on board I would like to see a finalalized DX9 along with some improvements.

I think they just got caught off guard. However, I'm certainly not going to jump on the X10 wagon soon because as far as I can see DX9.0c works very well on Vista. The user just needs to install DX9.0c. I did this on my sister's computer that is running vista and it seems to work rather well with my games.

I feel for Lee, he must really be taxed to the limit.

As opposed to Highlander.

Tell me one thing.... why would I want to buy FPSC X10 if FPSC V1 hasn't even proofed itself to be stable and working well?

Vista is far from being perfect, we all know that. We don't know how well DX10 will behave, but since it's being made by Microsoft, we can expect some trouble. Add TGC's FPSC history on top of that ( we all know how unstable V1 and all of it's updates are) and all I can say is get ready for lot's of trouble. Even adding onto all of that the fact that FPSC X10 has hardly shown anything that cannot be accomplished with DX9 now.

So give me one good reason to even consider buying X10?

Anyway, I wish all of you having the guts to try it and even buying new machines for it, much much luck!

So instead of wasting time on blogs, use that time to fix FPSC V1.....

Benjamin, you seriously dont know much on the computer industry, and it is very annoying to have you say blatent stupid things that people take seriously when it is simply child facts.

First off, nothing is perfect, but Vista is extremely stable and runs everything fine for me. No DRM really.

DX10 runs great! The demo TGC gave out ran great, it is very fast, and the gfx will be unbelievable imo.

The only update unstable for me was 1.3. The rest were all good, and V1 ran perfect for me, a few features said to exist before V1 was released weren't in, but TGC never officially said some of them would be.

Errr, besides that your completely ignoring that this isnt some $2k engine with 200 people designing it, this is an indi engine with 3 people working on it. For what it features, im damn sure most other $70 engines cant run this much, for as easy to use.

One reason:

a) Spending $60-70 on this, you will get as many features as the current commercial engines such as HL2. It will look as good, almost, and you bought it for $70. You cant find that anywhere else, the bad side is that it is only available for DX10, but thats what makes it possible.

b) You get a reason to upgrade your hardware to play literally every game on the market.

c) You support a literally small developer team.

That's excactly the point.... why buy something that looks like we have in HL2 now, while DX10 is capable of much more. Besides we all know that even with FPSC X10 you NOT will get as many features as the current commercial engines such as HL2.

Personally, graphics are almost nothing to me, and, while it's an excuse to buy X10, it just doesn't cut it for me. What would you rather play? A game with awesome DX10 graphics, or a game with the current DX9 graphics, with a great plot, plenty of action, and multiplayer to boot! Personally, I'd like to see the latter.

@Benjamin A: You know? How?! Thats amazing, time travel! All I can say is that, your challenged if you think that a small team of 3 people is powerful enough to completely use this. And how is this not going to be as powerful? Ragdolls, easy to use editor, AI, physics, seems powerful to me, but wait you've never coded, so from your perspective everything must be uber magical and pigs must fly before it is half decent.

The worst complaints are from people who would rather troll than contribute anything constructive, realistic or useful.

Really, it get's tiring to constantly battle with folk like that - if they're not gonna contribute something then why won't they just get lost like they keep promising to do. Frankly I'd rather be helping newbs than discussing this stuff with the clueless and auto-negative.

I keep seeing the same stuff over and over in these threads about x10.
FPSC is still upgrading v1.
I think everybody has the idea you are unhappy about FPSC...heck,I even saw it on the AP newswire a while back...
But now we are getting ready to call PETA because you've beaten this dead horse to death and back from the hereafter and back to death again.
If you are that unhappy with the engine don't use it.
You can't say you didn't get your money's worth.
I have no idea what made you say one day that you were sick of FPSC when you have been using it all of this time.
Please let the bloody horse rest in peace. Some of us actually have other things to do than read the same crap over and over again.
