Has anyone got this to work? Do you have to texture your model differently, or is it just rendered differently from DBPro?

I've tried copying the mesh, scaling it up and inverting the normals, but obviously this up's the poly count and seems like a cheat if there's a proper shader available.

any clues?

Have a look at the example with the asteroid in the help file, then check out the code and media used. The Cartoon Shading wroks well, if your graphics card is up to it. However, so far I have never seen an example that works with black outlines, and the question of how to do it or whether it works has been asked here many times, with no reply, other than using the faking methods you suggested.

my cartoon shader dont work... says not supported
have geforece 4 mx 440

do i have to turn it on or is my card just pants

I dont think your card supports it...but I think I saw some people write some "fake" cartoon shading code with original DB.

I have a gforce4 MX and its supported, but I have heard of others with whom its not Guess I got lucky
