Well, i just learned that I cant use .3ds files for my models, but I can us .x. The only prob is, I dont have any .x's, and I cant find any from download sites. Is there a way to change a .3ds to a .x? If there is how?
Thanks

Yes, if you have the old darkbasic a program came with it for converting 3ds to x. I think DarkBASIC used to convert 3ds to x anyway when loading 3ds files (I heard something about a secret command ), though you cant use 3ds anymore in DBPro, I forget why. I can email you the converter if its not illegal .

Or there are other programs on the internet, just do a search on google.

Yep you need to search for Panda DX Exporter in Google. This is a handy plugin for Max that creates .x files.

Soyuz, before I consider getting hold of Panda DX, does it work with GMAX? Yeah yeah, I know, it's not a very wise thing to ask but I was just curious, that's all.... Honest!

There is a program that I know of that will be of use to you. It's called 3d Exploration and you can find the trial version of it here:

http://www.imagespro.com/programs/362/

The trial version is fully functional so there are no watermarks or limitations.

It's ok, I've checked out PandaDX, it's only compatible with the MAX versions anyway. I wouldn't have thought it would work with GMAX, far to much like a free lunch <wink wink>

I just use 3D Canvas since I got a free, full version off the DB CD. It works with 3DS and X, but you may have to re-paint the 3DS models (3DC loads 3DS's as blank, grey models, really annoying...).
