Hi

I’ve have made a little program for you fellow FPSCreators.
It’s a little Windows program written in Dot.Net 2.0

It plays the FPSCreator tutorials from YouTube on your desktop.

I made this so that you all should have the opportunity to see all the tutorials easily

It requires that you have a connection to the net to see the tutorials and log on to the program.

You can download the program here and log in with guest/guest to see the first tutorial.
You can also read a little more about the program on the homepage.

In order to see the rest of the tutorials you have to donate at least 2$ on the homepage, go here.

When you donate at least 2$ you will get a password for the program and will be noticed of further upgrades of the program.

Some of you may think that this is not a good idea and that’s okay, as long as you do not flame this thread I’m okay with it.

I use it my self so I figure that others could also benefit from it.

B.t.w. I talked to The Game Creator’s and they said that it was okay to make this program.

Regards

Did you tell them you were going to charge for it?
I look at this two ways.
I have major issues with someone who just shows up in the community to sell something and make a quick buck. Most of the people around here that sell stuff have been members for a while and have made contributions to the community.
On the other hand if a forum member is too darned lazy to go to YouTube and watch the vids they should have to pay for this.
Either way I hope that you made it clear to TGC you were charging for this.

I just haven't seen you around here before.
But Higgins does have a point.
I have seen all of those videos on YouTube.
You might consider adding other FPSC related videos (there are quite a few) to this.
I meant no insult or offense in my other post.
I'm just trying to look out for the other forum members so please don't take it personally.

No offence taken.
I did this to to help other users.

Yes I can put in as manny videos as you want.

If you sendt me a link to the youtube page of the video you'l like to see in the program I can implement it. (uses SQL-Server to the video list and usernames)

hmmmm you know the only thing that would kill this idea is a tutorial website specific to FPSC with written tutorials and video tutorials also with FPSC peoples input from start to finish...

Hmmmmm come to think of it wasnt bullshock2 talking about this idea a while back?

Anyways only critism I got is if people are to lazy to use the search feature on utube or on tgc website or heck even google then by all means plunder away..... just read the comment at the bottom of my sig I think that say's it all

I did tell you that users would not want to pay for this! Best if you make your own tutorials.

Dude, if you've been around for that long, wouldn't you be making some better programs? I could do this in a sec.

there are free programs that let you download youtube videos, you can just play it through WMP or VLC or something else. why pay for this?

Ok

To obtain Youtube FPSC video tutorials for saving to HD and offline non streaming playback simply do the following:

1. Download the following 'Video Downloader' plugin for Firefox web browser

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390

You will notice that Youtube is listed as one of the supported sites for this plugin

2. Open Firefox and go to required video links for FPSC tutorials in Youtube beginning with 'FPS Creator Tutorial Part 1'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzpKQhOR-SM

3. Click the Video Download icon in the bottom right of the browser , wait for the window to open showing the download link. You will also see the following message

(.flv) Left-click -> (Warning: You must change the file extension to .flv). To open the file use FLV Player. If you want to convert the video to another format (avi, wmv, mpg...) consult our Help section (in the main page).

4. Left click the link, download the file to your HD renaming it to e.g. FPCS Tutorial 1.flv once downloaded

5. Download FLV Player 1.3.3 from the following link

http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html

6. Install FLV player and .flv files will now play

7. Repeat above steps for all remaining FPSC video tutorials

You can do as Nomad soul said,
or you could simply go to http://www.youtubex.com/ , type the address of the specific youtube-video you want to download, save it to your HD, and play it with FLV player. VCL-player seems to play them too.

Why would i pay for something that is free, even if it takes 5 less minutes by using you program i dont think I would pay for it, and you have just to see the videos 1 or 2 times then you get it.

<n00b flame>Hmm...Trisect, you are charging people for tutorials which other people have made. You are just using this as a bad way to make a quick buck which, in my opinion, is selfish and unfair to the original creators of the videos. You are, in fact, just taking someone else's hard work and trying to sell it off to make a profit yourself. Pathetic...</n00b flame>

Spudling, the guy says its free now, this is still his thread,so you have to stop promoting your software here or it could be construed as hijacking, start your own thread and leave this one be.
