Hi there
i made a modified version of the "cty" skybox with some new york buildings (which are placed incorrectly i know...)

if not, rename the folder called "ny" to "cty". Then it should work.

You mean these buildings on the right of screnn 3? These arent the WTC twin towers. Theyre something else on the water.

I know how to make a different skybox in a built game. How do you do it in test games? Where is the folder located?. Great skybox by the way.

Thx alot MK83. The folder is located in Files/skybank... (not difficult to find). There are .x files in the different folders (e.g. "cty" or "wtr"...) and .dds textures. Start fragmotion and open the textures. Save them as e.g. .bmp files to modify them. then convert them to .dds again and put them into a new folder which needs to have a name with 3 letters. Copy the .x file into that folder and name it like the folder. The textures have to be named like before but instead of e.g. "cty_B.dds" you must name it like "name_B.dds"

Sry that was wrong... I dont know why but you have to call it all like the box you took it from e.g. "cty". To avoid overwriting of the original, put the new folder just into the skybank folder or somewhere in there where isnt the original folder.

There's a program called skys that ive seen before that helps you make skyboxes for fpsc. Can't remember where to find it though.

Thanks, but what I was meaning to ask, is how do you put a different skybox into a test game instead of the default one. (just the test game, not the built game.) I dont want to make new skys I just want to change the default one while you are in test mode. thanks.

I have to disagree!

If he hadn't bumped it then I would never have seen it. So kudos for bumping a cool thread

However, I have noticed that when someone bumps an old thread on this part of the forum it tends to get locked shortly afterwards. It's obviously the policy of the FPSC mods, but it is one that I disagree with.

Bumping threads that are worthy of keeping alive is a good thing. It is the only way that the Free Media thread has stayed alive for over a year now.

As far as locking old threads goes...if a thread is bumped out of stupidity it gets locked.In this case,however,bumping the thread was a good thing.
I lock old threads that are being bumped for no good reason...it's not a blanket type thing where we just automatically lock them.
