Better check out the licnese...if you buy the sound effects you get a different license than if you download it for free.

They ARE free to use for non-commercial things... I checked that at the site.

Just because it's free doesn't mean it doesn't have a license.
If you can get it for free and then you can pay for it to get it too usually there are restrictions on the free stuff...or they wouldn't charge for it as well.
A lot of sites will give you free stuff if you only use it for your own personal use or for a noncommercial project.
Anytime you download something you plan to use in your game make sure you read (and maybe even copy) the license.
If it doesn't have a license you're better off not to use it.

sorry but the disclaimer says:

Disclaimer: Sound files found on this site were not created by the webmaster. They were obtained from various sources on the internet that labeled them as "freely distributable".

i don't think that low samplerate small sounds could be seriously copyrighted. 1) who is the copyright owner? The industry that has built the siren? The factory that uses the siren? The people who have recorded that sound? The webmaster that has uploaded the soundfile? We are not talking about masterpieces of art, but only about machinery sounds....there is a copyright over them?

Licenses are a good thing, but we can't seriously think that everything should be copyrighted.

Jhon,

Greetings. Here's a klaxon, that might be what you're looking for.

It is from my personal library, and is 100% distributable.

Thanks,

Seth Black
