I want to be able to model palm trees in some fair amount of detail along with simple houses, rooms and furniture to put into a DBPro Island walk through. I've never done any modelling and spent a few nights working on milkshape and am still trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Am I using the right software for this ? I have heard DeleD is very good. The capability of getting the palm tree detail is the important factor indeed I will need vegetation capability generally as well as the house stuff.

c shop or 3dws to make your basic layout.
eny poly modaling pacage that you can use for the furniture.
you shodent have any problem with ms3d its probaly the simpalist modler avaloble. it is verry slow to use in comparasen to more advanced pacages. but i guss you arnt intrested in speedy modaling.

Its not the simplist, it just has the most limited feature set.

"Psst! Brian! There's a message in my alphabet soup. It says, 'oooooooooo!'"
"Peter, those are Cheerios."
