If I were to put together my entire map for a level I'm making, it would generate too much lag, so I was wondering how to go through a door and load a new map without making it into a new level, because I want the character to be able to return to the originating room.

Impossible to do the loads HL2 or fear style...It would be nice to be able to do.

Maybe you could set up triggerzones to activate all the enemies and dynamic objects before you entered a room.

IN THEORY you could place a marker (win zone) where the player entered the new level to "exit" it to the new/old level. Just replicate the level, rename it and place it between levels before building the game. I think it should work, although not seamlessly like I think you want to, and would necesitate duplicating all levels.

I'm dizzy....

RE: the trigger zones.

let's say i made a map, with no dynamic entities, and it ran at 30 FPS.

Then i add all the dynamic entities, and it drops to 20 FPS.

If i made it so you have lots of trigger zones spawning enemies when you get close enough to them, would that INCREASE or DECREASE the framerate.

Thanks

I am on POST APPROVAL status, so i'm not posting as much as i would otherwise

When i got off post approval i'll try to post more answers than questions

I'm not positively sure. I'm assuming it would either increase the framerate, or not make a difference.
