Airslide's Blood Scorch Mod
This is a free mod to the bullet hole scorches to provide more HL2 like blood that blends in together better when large amounts are splattered onto the walls In addition, I've modified the normal bullet holes a bit so they appear to fit in with more materials. Still not as good as I hoped, but close.

Okay, I've been thinking about doing it for ages so now I'm finaly doing it. I'm editing the blood that appears on walls & the floor after shooting an enemy (and later the blood splat decal). I've also been playing with the transparencies of diffrent parts of the bullet holes in order to let them blend in a little better - with minimal success.

Later I may do further modifications to the bulletholes so that they have little if any color and only include cracks and such (with the exception of the wood)

It's finished (sorta)!
All there is now is a little feedback to see if anything needs to be changed. The only things that where modified were the opacitices of the normal bulletholes so they blend in a little better, along with the addition of my own blood splats.

While i think it's pretty good, you need to work on the shape of it. blood wouldn't land in circles.

Yep , i agree with Zaibatsu the blood need to splash.
I have tested on my brother(lol). But for the rest it looks very real and almost HL2 ...

Good job.

Is this a little better? I'll make it darker (and prehaps thicker) later, after I get the shapes right. Keep in mind your result is usually diffrent when you load a ton of machinegun rounds into them

Also, my blood seems to 'mix' together better than the orignal, which is something I like

very nice, dude. I'll be the first to grab .

So-pretty much, you want more gore?

And, how are you doing this? Just...editing the bullet hole?

very nice.

@AaronG - Thanks. I don't know if it's that I want more gore - if it was that, I'd be figuring out how to make bodies explode And yes, I'm editing the bullet hole textures.

@OLEG - Thanks, glad you like it. Now that the blood splatters seem to be looking good, I'm ready to move onto the blood splat when you shoot someone. Currently it's a bit cartoony.

NOTE: If you guys are using EAI's scorch mod, this isn't compatible. They both edit the bulletholes texture, so you'll have to pick one or the other - new blood, or melee scorches. I probably won't do a melee like scorch because Lee may fix the flak scorch issues.

Eh, so much for a new blood decal effect for the hitting the enemy part - turns out I'm not so good at that. I'll keep trying, but for now I'm going to tidy up the bulletholes for a quick distribution

Okay, I think I'm just about finished with the bulletholes. I'll post it so you guys can get a better look, then if there is anything that could use improving or fixing you guys can tell me and I'll get to it

I'll update the first post with a new screen and the download in a moment.

EDIT: I'm posting the download into this post and Linking it in the first so I don't need a hosting site. Check 1st post for password in a second.

i love it. I wish you could make something for hitting the enemies, because I don't like the default one...

umm.. I'm getting an error during extraction saying that the files are damaged or broken...

Damaged? Broken? It extracted fine for me. Could you recheck the password? I just updated it (I put the wrong one) so you may have entered the old one. If that doesn't work I'll try posting it without the password, and if that doesn't work I'll zip it with winrar.

Just unzipped, quick question, theres also a bullet holes.dds file in that folder. Take it out or leave it and just switch the .tga file? ( when I say in that folder, I mean the one in FPSC.)

EDIT: I left the .dds in the folder and just replaced the .tga file.
Then I lined up a couple folks for a killin, and I really like the way the blood expels from their bodies. Awesome work. Heres a scrennie of the aftermath.

looks good airslide

@Any one who wants this blood but wants Errants's scorch mod: Just extract this in a different folder and then take out this blood and replace it with the one in the FPSC dirrectory.

@MK83 - Rename the DDS file to something else - that's not my blood (look at my own screen, you'll see), I guess your just looking at FPSC's for the first time lol (though it's darker?)

@Tyrano Man - Yes, you could easily use a program such as photoshop or gimp to extract the blood from my bulletholes file and put it in EAI's.

@All - Glad you guys like it, and you're welcome
