Enviro is a small tech demo ive been working on lately. I basically want to see how close I can get a game's graphics to something considered professional, while maintaining a steady framerate.

Screenshots / Video below:

(or click here for the youtube video)

Up Next:

- Work on the tornado: Im thinking Ill make it transparent, with particles of debris swirling around it for a better effect. Ill also improve the geometry on it and add a cyclone to the top.

- Clouds: Gona add a cloud sphere that spins to add depth, and Ill also try to add some sort of a funnel of clouds above the tornado.

- Misty Fog: Using Green Gandalf's misty fog shader ill add some steam coming from below the mountains

- Reflection on the snow

- Drown out the background sounds so they sound off in the distance more

- Improve the textures on the crystals

- Parallax mapping on the snow and crystals

- Skysphere transfers: Every 10 or 20 seconds, when lightning hits the skyspheres will change to a different scene. Just a cool effect.

- A crashed pod ship on the main mountain.

- An animated scene of dozens of ships battling in the distance.

Im going for a "middle of war, end of world" feel to the game. I think Ill darken it a bit as well.

- RUC'

looked cool, was that gun fire in the background? thats what it sounded to me. The tornado should look more erratic, and slender..might be easier to have a funnel shape model that flows down in an arc, then scroll a texture...maybe add layers to it, for a bigger effect.

looking cool though

Thanks,

Moondog thats a decent idea Ill give it a try, a few seperate layers would probably look better, and it'll be way less polies as well.

Latest screen, added a mech (might allow you to control it later...meh)

Wow, looks like someone turned on super bloom. Looks really professional, especially the texturing and sky. Nice job.

Looks great, only the bloom could be turned down a teeny bit in my opinion.

Aside from that, the graphics on this are amazing! Put it in a game when you're done, and hope it gets high FPS

snowboarding in the middle of war, now that's a game setting! maybe add some rockets to the snowboards, and arm the border's with futuristic weapons...and while their rocketing down the course, ships fly by spraying bullets on the ground, and others drop small bombs causing avalaches

wow, your game sounds awesome ruccus!
