Since it looks like people will be finishing entry's soon, i thought i would post the entry thread one day early

YOU MUST READ ENTIRE THREAD BEFORE SUBMITTING AN ENTRY

Entry's must be submitted by: April 24, 2007 // 11:59 PM EST

Now, here's how you must make your entry post:

You will need three screenshots. The first shot will be a beauty render of your level. This can be done in a modeler, or you can put it in DBP, and add some bloom or something. Hince the type, make it look beautiful, lol.

Second shot must be a wireframe shot of your level. Try to show as much as you can in the shot.

The last shot must be all 4(if you created 4) textures in one image. You may add a watermark if you wish.

Your beauty shot, and wireframe shot are limited to 640x480 resolution. Your texture shot will obviously can't exceed 512x512 in resolution, if you compile 4 256x256 textures together.

Last note, keep this thread clean, only post i want to see are entry posts. Once the entry deadline has been reached, voting can commence. See rules on main TGC Comp Thread.

Voting will end: April 26, 2007 // 11:59 PM EST

Thank you everyone, and good luck!

Here's as much as i could get textured in time. If you could, could you extend the date one more day? I would love to finish this up completely.

Here it is kind of:

I might extend the due date, i'll see how everyone is doing with entry's and make my decision tonight.

Also, please read the entry rules before posting, you need a render shot, a wireframe shot, and a shot of all your textures in one image.

Well I won't be entering, I've had a lot to do, although I handed my last bit of coursework on Friday, I'm still swamped, plus I got a concert on Wednesday (Porcupine Tree ) So time hasn't been a friend.

Thanks for the compliments! I'm planning to go redo some of my texturing job after the contest. I accidentally screwed up my model by smoothing the bottom part of the half pipe and didn't realize until after I had saved. Luckily, i have the original file before I started texturing it so i just have to go re-map the whole thing which wasn't very hard in the first place.

@Tyrano man - Yours looks mighty challenging!

Well, we got two entry's. I was hoping more people would enter the levels, even if it wasn't completed. As you can see, the two that were entered didn't get finished. So voting should now start!

My vote goes to tyrano, becuase it seems like one of those levels that you would work on for hours and eventually throw your controler at a wall, lol

So the vote count so far is:

Tyrano: 1
Crazy: 1

two days of voting, get yoru votes in, anyone from the forum can vote please read over the rules in the main contest thread before voting

I vote Tyrano.

If i ever did get mine round to textureing; I would of spent hours on mapping; and done it that classic SMB2 expert purple chessboardy texture.

So it's past the deadline now, are we the only two entrants? What happened to yours fxgammer, because I liked your bridge

ending shot(end is the funnel)

I vote Tyrano If I still can.

Crazy does have textures, but if anything, I feel like they take away from the level!! Lol, not trying to be harsh Crazy, thats just my opinion.

Also, the mesh seems a lot cleaner on Tyrano's model.

Sorry for the late update guys, I've been busy.

but anyway, enough excuses. the due date for voting made this comp a draw, so officially it's a draw, but unofficially you guys voted Tyrano as the winner.

this first comp has also made me realize a few things, which i hope to implement changes into the next comp. to better maximize participants and entry's

so, for this comp, i call it a draw, for official reasons (i didn't extend the due date, so the rules stand)

so now on to the second comp!
