Just wondering if anyone has been able to get a sphere shaped entity to roll? Maybe its some setting of values or perhaps just not available yet at this version (1.04).

I can get some roll out of it but generally they slide across the floor instead of rolling. If I toss it down a set of stairs it sometimes rolls over and over, but when it hits the floor it slides the rest of the way to the wall. More like a hacky sack rather than a ball.

It bounces,...so if anyone has some insight into getting a ball to roll it would be appreciated.

I know, barrels don't roll very well either. It's just something to do with the physics engine I guess. Maybe they'll improve it at some point...

You have to set it to have polygon colision in the FPE

I think it was polygon collision as default but I will double check that. Never thought to test different collision types though, thanks.

I created a sphere, with sphere collision, and when i put it to roll down a slope (i used the 4 segments from scifi) it kind of fell in and out of the floor........

It actually worked fine the first time, where i just gave it the "green.tga" texture that comes with entity maker, but when i used the skull texture and doubled the scale it stopped working .

Any ideas??

P.S. I not tried polygonal collision yet, mainly cos i can't be bothered .

it might be 'cause you doubled up the scale, has nothing to do with the texture
=.

best of the rest!

A tip for anyone who uses FPSC: Never scale up just using the FPE; it's way too buggy. Do it in your modeling prog.
