@ johnpaul
you're in america right?
The pricing is out of proportion cause the aus market is ripped off even more anyway. Thats just the currency conversion rate, id still pay more for those parts anyway

And did you get ripped off (if ur in USA) with the 8800 cause if it is $390 USD i saw 1 for $405 AUD same version.

WARNING: More australian tax ranting and complaining.

on a yearly basis, if you estimate how much tax money you give to the government out of your income, you're practically working for the government for the first 4 months of the year.

The sad fact is that i can read script, but i just cant write it.

@xplosys:

I know talking out of your [mod edit] is fun, but dell uses completely different component types, and most of their crap is custom made, ever owned a dell? A [mod edit] to repair, cant just plop out and get a new mobo.

pleading and needing and bleeding and breeding and feeding exceeding..where is everybody? trying and lying defying denying crying and dying..where is everybody?

Steve,

Dell does not have custom components. Yes I own a dell, the company I work for also has a deal with them.

You cannot plop in a new motherboard because they have custom cases. Their cases are not standard thus the mother boards you are able to buy generally in the stores will not fit inside because of their huge stupid fan over the CPU's.

It would be almost the same as buying an Alienware computer and expecting to pull out their motherboard which they got oversea's somewhere and putting in one from your old pc.

I could go on and on about them as not only to we build them at work and get them shipped to us. but i did not graduate from school for nothing.

PS: @DieRider: I like your avatar. You might want to check out the Unreal Tournament 3 thread I made on the "Geek Culture" board.

Steve J,

It's always a pleasure to have someone of your knowledge and experience (and well spoken too!) pop over from the culture board and impress us. Next time my independent repair/tech service contract with Dell is due for renewal, I will inform them of your findings. For more information and support, please visit http://www.xplosys.com.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.
