This is my first run at FPS Creator. I've been spending a lot of time with lighting concepts and scene consistency to create a somewhat reailistic environment. Please tell me what you think.

You should put this in the showcase forum.

P.S. If you host the clip on youtube people might actually watch.

sflenory,

Very good for a first run. You've managed to create a very realistic environment with nice lighting. The only thing I would add is light fixtures. Well Done!

Eldest Dragon,

Thanks for your hard work in keeping the forums a swell place. Don't forget to tell him that he will need a screenshot to post there. As for the video, I actually watched it where it was.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

@xplosys Thanks..... I guess... maybe you were being sarcastic, I can't work it out on forums.

@sflenory Yeah... screenshots are good.... but as xplosys has said it was good I'm going to download, I'll edit when I've watched it.

E.D.

P.S. I just read my post at the top..... what I actually meant was:

MORE people might watch if you put it on youtube, it sounds really harsh when I read it now

SECOND EDIT:
Wow that was amazing!!!

Which model packs did you use?? And if some of them aren't from TGC, where did you get them.
(I'm not using the full version... so some of it might be stuff that comes with FPSC that I haven't seen..... I like the fan.)

E.D.

I think I have seen the fan posted. But the stairs, how did you do them that nice. I am impressed. One of the best I have seen from stock media.

Though I wish everyone would change the stock text. Press enter to use is kind of dumb. How about press enter to open, then another line of text after it is open to press enter to close

@Redstone Games I already told him that .

I'm just going to say it once more.

Wow, really nice, all you should add is (what xplosys said) static light fixtures.

A static light fixture is an object that looks like it will emit light.

(It doesn't actually, but it makes the actual lighting look more realistic.)

I thought it was good. The only thing I would have to say about it is, watch how you capture the audience. There really wasn't music or anything, I found it kinda boring until the zombies showed up.

How do you get such a large level with lots of detal to run smoothly?

Gondee -

To be honest, I broke the level down into what needed to be dynamic and what needed to be seen. For instance...the enemies were not spawned until I was close to them, most tables and entities were static unless I wanted them to move for some reason. The levels are directly on top of each other instead of extending out. While this engine has culling, its not the best so I tried my best to keep the detail vertically aligned. Im not sure if this helps, but its just some procedures I use.

did you use a trigger zone so that the zombies didnt appear until you picked up the axe? if so nice use of trigger zones, i'dd also add a few trigger zones where the zombies spawn to play a short little horror sound as this would add to the effect and subliminly (is that how its spelt?) warn the player without them noticing. nice use of stock media though.
