Hi!
I was wondering why i should get GDK insted of C++ to write games and engines in...

I know:
php
html
vb 6
and some more crappy languages...

so what do u think would be easiest for me to get "proffesional" in?

What i want to do is to write my own engine like FPSC or something..

But with C++ i can easier make programs like a calculator and dvd manager and things like that not only games..right?

Need webspace for your game?

Dark GDK is a set of libraries/headers, not a language unto itself.

It is written in C++ (I believe) and you would use C++ code to create what you want with the libraries (subject to license restrictions).

There is also a .Net version, if you want to go that route and use C# or VB.Net. (I like the straight C++ myself.)

If you already know VB6 then making the change to VB.NET shouldn't be too hard.
I'd therefore suggest DGDK.NET, which will allow you to make games in VB.NET.

You could learn C++ and make games in that too, but C++ by itself != GAMES - you'd STILL need some other library to handle drawing, unless you want to code everything yourself (which would take years), and DGDK (without the .NET) would also be a sound option.
